Look elsewhere if: you want a fixed price up front, or you are enrolling within three months of the A-Level, when the site applies a surcharge or ad-hoc pricing.
The site lists in-house practice papers, on-site mock exams and a written report on each essay. Besides weekly classes there is a Consults package: a 1.5-hour consultation and a close review of two essays.
Published fees: On WhatsApp enquiry. Lessons are 2 hours, and the site states no registration or material fees. Group rates are lower than 1-to-1, and a group may not start unless another student reads the same set texts.

One named tutor, Anders, won a silver medal for Singapore at the International Geography Olympiad. The 2026 timetable runs JC Geography on Thursdays from 7 to 9pm.

He started at Jurong Junior College, later became Subject Head at Hwa Chong and a Senior Teacher at Raffles Institution, and wrote an A-Level Geography model essay guide. His JC page names both 9173 and 8834, and covers essay planning, fieldwork questions and timed papers.
Published fees: "Group classes from $250 a month". The number of lessons in that month and the lesson length are not published. Registration and trial terms are not stated. The centre states that around 80 per cent of its O-Level and A-Level students score a distinction nearly every year.

Its head teacher, Anthony Choong, received a distinction for his H3 History research thesis, which is useful if your child is weighing H3. The H2 page sets out Paper 1's Cold War, global economy and conflict topics and Paper 2's five Southeast Asian themes. All classes run online, with lessons built on shared Google Slides.

Mr Chen, who studied History at NUS and at Oxford, has taught H2 History for over six years. The H2 Literature classes are grouped by text: unseen poetry, prose and drama, Remembering Babylon with Anthills of the Savannah and Wide Sargasso Sea, the Romantics with Frankenstein, and Jane Eyre with Heart of Darkness, Donne, King Lear and The Winter's Tale.
Published fees (from 9 December 2025): H2 History S$640 for four lessons, run online on Monday, Friday or Sunday from 7.30 to 9.30pm, which makes S$80 an hour. H2 Literature S$480 for four lessons, length not stated. New students pay the first four lessons plus a registration fee whose amount is not published. SEAB's 2027 list gives the current codes: H2 History 9174, H2 Geography 9173 and H2 Literature in English 9539. Older notes may carry earlier codes, so check a course is built for these. In all three, question papers are printed but answers are typed in a digital answer booklet, so timed typing practice matters.

Two traps catch JC students. In History, essays are never set on the theme used for that paper's source-based case study, so a student who skips a theme gambles on the paper. In Literature, at least one Paper 1 poetry question features a Singaporean poem.
H3: the research option
Each subject has an H3, assessed by one research essay rather than a written paper. All three start in November of JC1 and are submitted by September of JC2, after a proposal is approved.

How the H2 humanities fit university plans
From the 2025 A-Level onwards, the University Admission Score is out of 70: three H2 subjects at up to 20 rank points each (an A is 20, a B 17.5, a C 15), plus GP, with a pass in Project Work required. So an H2 humanity counts exactly as much as an H2 Maths or Science. H3 grades are not counted in the score, though NTU and Nanyang Junior College note that H3 students may be considered under aptitude-based admissions.
NUS's prerequisite list (accurate as of February 2026) names no programme that requires H2 History, Geography or Literature. Its law programmes ask for at least a B in H1 General Paper, or an SAT reading and writing score of 700 with at least an E in GP, which is why GP matters as much as the humanity for a law applicant.
H2 humanities marks rise when someone reads the student's own paragraphs closely. A class gives routine, timed papers and a lower hourly cost. A private tutor gives the whole hour to one script.

A worked example for H2 History: Inspire's S$640 for four 2-hour lessons is S$160 a lesson. Four 2-hour lessons with a part-time tutor at S$45 to S$60 an hour cost S$360 to S$480, and with a full-time tutor at S$65 to S$90 an hour, S$520 to S$720.
