What families pay per hour
On our published rate card, families pay from S$25 an hour for an undergraduate tutor in lower primary up to S$130 for a former MOE teacher at JC and IB level. You set your own preferred rate on your profile, and the rate for each assignment is confirmed with you before you accept it.

Is it free to become a tutor with The Singapore Syllabus?
Yes. Creating a tutor profile is free. You only take on the assignments you choose, and the terms for each are set out in your tutor agreement before your first lesson.
Who can sign up as a tutor?
Undergraduates, graduates and current or former MOE teachers can create a profile. Profiles are listed by tutor type (Undergraduate Tutor, Graduate Tutor, MOE Tutor) so parents can see your background at a glance.
Which subjects and levels are in demand?
Requests come in for every level from Primary 1 to JC, IB and IGCSE, and primary school students are the largest group. We most often need Chinese, Malay and Tamil tutors, JC, IB and IP tutors, and tutors free on weekday afternoons. List every subject and level you can teach, and tick the weekday times you are free, so more assignments match your profile.
Can I teach online, or only at students' homes?
Both. Choose your nearest MRT station for home tuition, or choose Online on your profile if you prefer online lessons.
How do I hear about new tuition assignments?
By WhatsApp. When a family's request fits your subjects, levels, area and times, we message you with the details and the rate, and you reply yes or no. Some assignments also go out on our Telegram bot, which you log in to with the phone number on your profile.
Do I set my own rates?
You enter a preferred hourly rate for primary, secondary and JC students on your profile. The rate for each assignment is confirmed with you before you accept it.
Ready to take on students?
