How much is tuition in Singapore? Typical market ranges are S$30 to S$75 an hour for primary school, S$35 to S$95 for secondary, S$55 to S$130 for JC and S$60 to S$150 for IB and IGCSE, depending on whether the tutor is a part-time undergraduate, a full-time tutor or a former MOE teacher.

Typical market ranges for 1-to-1 home tuition are about S$30 to S$75 an hour for primary school, S$35 to S$95 for secondary school, S$55 to S$130 for JC and S$60 to S$150 for IB and IGCSE. Part-time undergraduate tutors sit at the lower end of each range and former MOE teachers at the upper end.
How much does a private tutor cost in Singapore?
A private home tutor charges by the hour. Across all levels, undergraduate tutors charge about S$30 to S$80 an hour, full-time tutors S$40 to S$110 and former MOE teachers S$50 to S$150. One 1.5-hour lesson a week works out to roughly 6.5 hours a month, so multiply the hourly rate by 6.5 for a monthly estimate.

Why is there a range, not a fixed price?
Rates depend on the level, the tutor's tier (part-time undergraduate, full-time or former MOE teacher) and how often lessons run. Tutors set their own rates within market norms, and the final rate is the one on the tutor's profile in your shortlist.
Do these rates apply to online lessons?
Yes. Online lessons on Zoom or Google Meet cost the same as lessons at home.
