Best Geography Tuition Centres in Singapore (2027): 10 Compared

Written and reviewed by Theon Teo, Founder · editorial policy

Ten geography tuition centres in Singapore side by side: published fees turned into a per-hour cost, class sizes, branches with the nearest MRT, trial terms and questions to ask, plus what the 2027 SEC Geography, Humanities and H2 Geography papers actually test.

The best geography tuition centre is the one that fixes the paper your child loses marks on. For lessons from a former Raffles Institution senior teacher, at O-Level or A-Level, look at GeogCafe (Novena, Kembangan, online). For the smallest class, Ancourage Academy (Bishan, Woodlands) states 3 to 6 students and also runs H1 and H2 Geography. For a struggling Combined Humanities student in the north or east, Bespoke Learning Centre and EduFirst both teach Social Studies with the Geography elective. Near the east coast, The Humanities Clinic and Atutors Learning Centre are both on East Coast Road. Fully online, The Geography Academy caps classes at 5. The lowest published fee is GeogCafe's "from S$250 a month", and for Sec 3 to JC the lowest stated rate is S$100 for a 2-hour class, at Atutors (JC) and The Geography Academy (upper secondary).

Geography is harder to shop for than Maths, because fewer centres teach it and many list it only as part of "Humanities". So this guide checks the things that matter for Geography: which syllabus the class follows (Pure, Humanities elective, G2 or G3, H1 or H2), who teaches it, how many students share that tutor, and what an hour really costs. Every fact was read on the centre's own website on 8 November 2026. Where a fact is not on the centre's site, we say "not published" rather than guess.

This page is about Geography only. For other subjects, see our secondary tuition comparison.

How we chose these centres

We searched Google for "geography tuition singapore", "o level geography tuition", "combined humanities geography tuition" and "h2 geography tuition", and noted the centres that rank and the ones other Geography listicles name. We then kept centres that pass all four tests below.

  1. Teaches Geography by nameA Geography class or a Humanities class with the Geography elective, not only Social Studies or History.
  2. Publishes its programmeIts own website shows at least one of: the fee, the class size, the timetable or the named Geography tutor.
  3. Runs active branches or live classesIt lists a current branch or live online classes, with a 2026 or 2027 timetable or registration.
  4. Spread of area, price and styleTogether, the 10 cover every region, specialists and multi-subject centres, on site and online, secondary and JC.

All facts were checked on 8 November 2026. Fees often change in January, so confirm the current figure before you pay. No centre paid to appear here, and the detail section is in alphabetical order, not a ranking. Some names on other lists were left out because their own sites did not publish a Geography class: Humanities Hub's website shows only "launching soon", and the Zenith, Indigo and Learners' Lodge sites list no Geography course.

The per-hour figure is our own estimate. We divided the published fee by the published lesson hours. Where a centre does not publish its fee or lesson length, we could not work it out.

The 10 centres in detail

Ancourage Academy

What is distinctive. A multi-subject centre with one of the widest Geography menus here. Its Humanities page lists stand-alone SEC Geography at G3 (K329) and G2 (K226), and Combined Humanities with Geography at G3 (K335) and G2 (K229). It also has separate course pages for JC1 and JC2 H1 Geography and H2 Geography, which run on request rather than on a fixed weekly timetable. Every group is 3 to 6 students and each lesson is 2 hours. All worksheets are included. The founder and academic director is Min Hui.

Suits: a student who needs to be questioned every lesson, or a JC student who wants a small group for H1 or H2 Geography. May not suit: a family that wants a price before calling, since fees are quoted on request.

Fees as published: Not published. The pricing page says there are no registration, material or administrative fees, and offers packages of 4, 12 or 24 lessons. The standard trial price is S$18, which the site currently shows as waived, with no obligation to enrol.

Branches: 152 Bishan Street 11 #01-215 (about 10 minutes' walk from Bishan MRT). Vista Point, 548 Woodlands Drive 44 #02-16 (Woodlands South MRT is the nearest station). Live online classes on Microsoft Teams.

Website: ancourage.academy

Ask at the trial: What is the fee per lesson for my child's exact course? Is the class G2 or G3, Pure or Humanities? For JC, when does a new H2 group open?

Aspire Hub

What is distinctive. A large multi-subject network whose Geography page covers Sec 1 to 4 on G2 and G3 tracks, for both Elective Geography taken with Social Studies and full stand-alone Geography. The page sets out the content cluster by cluster, from tourism and climate to tectonics and Singapore. Social Studies and History are taught as separate courses. It does not list JC Geography.

Suits: a family that wants a branch close to home, especially in the west or north-east. May not suit: a family that wants to compare fees, class size or tutors online, since none is published for Geography.

Fees as published: Not published. A trial class can be booked through the site, but its terms are not stated.

Branches: Bukit Timah, Rochester Mall, Novena (United Square), Thomson, Alexandra Village (Central). Paya Lebar Quarter, Bedok Mall, Parkway Parade (East). Jurong Point, West Mall, Hillion Mall (West). Seletar Mall, Serangoon NEX, Woodleigh Mall, Kovan (North-East). Lentor Modern (North). The Geography page does not say which branches run Geography.

Website: aspirehub.com

Ask at the trial: Which branch runs Geography at my child's level and track? How many students are in the class? What is the monthly fee with GST?

Atutors Learning Centre

What is distinctive. A small upper secondary and JC centre at Roxy Square that lists JC Geography among its courses. Its JC Geography page names two tutors, one of whom represented Singapore at the International Geography Olympiad and won a silver medal. The 2026 timetable has Sec 3 Geography on Tuesdays and JC Geography on Thursdays, both 7pm to 9pm.

Suits: a JC or Sec 3 student in the east who wants a simple fee with nothing added. May not suit: a student who needs H1 and H2 taught apart or a Sec 4 slot, since the page does not say which A-Level syllabus it follows and the timetable shows only those two classes.

Fees as published: JC S$100 a lesson or S$400 for four, nett. No registration fee, no deposit and no GST. Special rates for one-to-one and two-student lessons are mentioned without figures. The secondary Geography fee and trial terms are not published.

Branch: 50 East Coast Road #01-45, Roxy Square Shopping Centre, beside Marine Parade MRT.

Website: atutorslearningcentre.com

Ask at the trial: Is the JC class H1, H2 or mixed? How many students are in it? Is there a 2027 timetable and a Sec 4 class?

Bespoke Learning Centre

What is distinctive. A multi-subject centre that runs a Combined Humanities class for Sec 3 to 5, for students taking Social Studies with either History or Geography, at O-Level and N(A)-Level. The page describes its tutors as experienced former MOE teachers. Classes are held in the centre, with at most 8 students.

Suits: a Combined Humanities student in Yishun, Sembawang, Punggol or Tampines who wants Social Studies and the Geography elective in one class. May not suit: a Pure Geography student, since the page covers Combined Humanities only, or a student who wants online lessons.

Fees as published: S$320 a month for Sec 3, and S$320 for Sec 4 and 5, based on four sessions a month and pro-rated in five-session months. Lesson length, registration and deposit are not published. A trial lesson at no charge is advertised.

Branches: 846 Yishun Ring Road #02-3653, Khatib Central (near Khatib MRT). SAFRA Punggol, 9 Sentul Crescent #04-04. CPF Building, 1 Tampines Central 5 #03-10 (near Tampines MRT). Canberra Community Club, 2 Sembawang Crescent #04-02 (near Canberra MRT).

Website: bespokelearning.sg

Ask at the trial: How long is each lesson? How is time split between Social Studies and Geography? Which Geography option does the class cover, Climate or Tectonics?

EduFirst Learning Centre

What is distinctive. A neighbourhood network that teaches both Pure and Elective Geography at N and O level, with practice on maps, photographs and graphs, and answering technique for structured and essay questions. Its tutors write the centre's own Geography books, and one author, Mr Bernard Tan, is named. Classes across the centre are 4 to 8 students. The 2027 rate card lists Social Studies and "Humanities (History or Geography)" for Sec 3 to 5.

Suits: a student who wants a branch a short walk from home, and a family taking two or more subjects, since each extra subject costs less. May not suit: a family that wants to know the Geography tutor before signing up, since tutors are not named on the Geography page.

Fees as published (2027): S$320 a month for Sec 3 and Sec 4 or 5 as the first subject, S$310 for a second subject, based on four sessions a month and subject to GST. On registration, a S$50 fee, the first month's fees and one month's deposit. Weekday and weekend slots are 1.5 hours. Materials and exam papers are included. A trial session is offered by phone, with its cost not published.

Branches: About 24, including Aljunied, Ang Mo Kio, Bedok, Bukit Batok, Bukit Panjang, Choa Chu Kang, Clementi, Hougang, Jurong East, Jurong West, Pasir Ris, Punggol, Sembawang, Sengkang, Tampines, Tiong Bahru, Toa Payoh, Woodlands, Woodleigh and Yishun. The Geography page does not say which branches run Geography.

Website: edufirst.com.sg

Ask at the trial: Is the class Pure or Elective Geography, and G2 or G3? Who teaches it at this branch? How many students are in the slot?

GeogCafe

What is distinctive. A Geography specialist whose classes are all taught by the founder, Mr Eric Goh. He has taught Geography since 2003, was a Senior Teacher at Raffles Institution and Subject Head at Hwa Chong, and read Geography at NUS as an MOE scholar. He wrote a book of A-Level Geography model essays and model answers for an O-Level Geography Ten-Year Series. Sec 4 Pure and Elective Geography are taught in separate classes, and JC classes cover H1 and H2. Group classes run in the room and online at the same time. The centre states that around 80% of its O-Level and A-Level students score a distinction in Geography nearly every year.

Suits: a student who wants one very experienced Geography teacher from Sec 1 to JC2, or an IP or IB student who wants a private group. May not suit: a family that wants a published class size or JC fee, since neither is given.

Fees as published: Group classes from S$250 a month. The number of lessons a month, JC fees, class size, registration and trial terms are not published. Upper secondary lessons are 2 hours.

Branches: Hotel Royal, 36 Newton Road #03-17 (about 10 minutes' walk from Novena MRT). A second centre within walking distance of Kembangan MRT, with weekend Sec 4 and JC2 classes. The 2026 Novena timetable has Sec 4 Pure on Friday evening and Sunday afternoon, and Sec 4 Elective with Social Studies on Friday evening and Sunday morning.

Website: geogcafe.com

Ask at the trial: What does the class cost per month, and for how many lessons? How many students are in the class? Has the course been updated for the 2027 SEC syllabus, K329 and K335?

illum.e

What is distinctive. An English and Humanities centre whose Geography lead, AC Chua, is MOE-trained, holds a joint honours degree in Geography from NUS and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and lists over a decade of MOE teaching. It teaches O-Level Geography for Sec 3 and 4 and G1 to G3 Geography for Sec 1, in small groups, face to face or on Zoom. The centre states that many students achieve "a two-grade jump" after one term.

Suits: a student who wants a named, MOE-trained Geography lead and a choice of branches. May not suit: a JC student, since H1 and H2 Geography are not listed.

Fees as published: S$80 for a 1.5-hour Upper Secondary lesson. Lower Secondary Geography fees, registration and trial terms are not published.

Branches: Jurong East, Novena, Bukit Timah (Beauty World), Marine Parade (Parkway Centre), Hougang and Tampines. The site gives no street addresses on the Geography page, and names Jurong East plus "other centres" for Geography.

Website: illum.education

Ask at the trial: Which branch runs Geography for my child's level? Does AC Chua teach this class? Is it Pure or Elective Geography?

Inspire Education Centre

What is distinctive. A multi-subject centre in Orchard Towers that runs Social Studies with History or Geography for Sec 3 and Sec 4 on Sunday afternoons, in the centre or online. Its Social Studies tutor, Mr Ho, holds an NUS degree and lists over 19 years of teaching. The fee table also lists H2 Geography at S$800 for four lessons and Geography (Core) for Sec 3 and 4, both marked as not available when we checked.

Suits: a Combined Humanities student who wants a fixed Sunday slot in town or online. May not suit: a Pure Geography or JC student, since neither class was open.

Fees as published (from 9 December 2025): S$360 for four 1.5-hour lessons, collected monthly. New students pay a registration fee, amount not published, and material fees may apply. There is no deposit. Fees are not refundable. Trial terms are not published.

Branch: 400 Orchard Road #03-41, Orchard Towers front block (Orchard MRT).

Website: inspire-edu.sg

Ask at the trial: Who teaches the Geography half of the class? How much time goes to Geography compared with Social Studies? What is the registration fee?

The Geography Academy

What is distinctive. An online-only Geography and Social Studies school on Google Meet, with at most 5 students a class. Founded by its head tutor, Teacher Gladys, it lists 13 tutors and in-house training for all of them. Upper Secondary is a two-year course, and the 2027 schedule notes that Elective classes cover Geography in Everyday Life and Tourism in Sec 3, and Climate or Tectonics in Sec 4. All notes, slides and mock tests are digital and included. The centre states that students who stay at least five months improve by about three grades on average.

Suits: a student anywhere in Singapore who works well online and wants a very small class. May not suit: a student who wants a classroom, or a JC student, since no JC programme is published.

Fees as published (2027): Upper Secondary S$100 per 2-hour class, about S$400 a month. Lower Secondary S$70 per 1.5-hour class, about S$280 a month. The centre states that more than 90% of her A-Level and O-Level students attain As and Bs every year.

Suits: a student who keeps describing instead of explaining, and families in the east or north. May not suit: a JC Geography student, since its JC classes are GP, Economics and History.

Fees as published: S$340 for four 1.5-hour lessons. Registration, deposit and trial terms are not published, and schedules are sent on WhatsApp.

Ask at the trial: Does Ms Tan teach this class? Is it Pure, Elective or mixed? How many students are in the slot now?

What does the geography exam actually test?

From 2027, students who entered Sec 1 in 2024 sit the Singapore-Cambridge Secondary Education Certificate (SEC), and O-Level Geography is replaced by SEC Geography. A centre course built for the old 2279 or 2260 papers should have been updated. Our SEC Geography exam guide works through the questions, fieldwork and a model 9-mark answer, and our SEC syllabus codes list covers every subject.

Pure Geography (G3, K329)Combined Humanities, Geography paper (G3, K335)
PapersTwo papers, 1 hour 45 minutes and 50 marks eachPaper 2 of Humanities, 1 hour 45 minutes, 50 marks (Paper 1 is Social Studies)

Level-marked questionOne 9-mark judgement question in each paperOne 9-mark judgement question
Everything elsePoint-marked, all questions compulsoryPoint-marked

G2 students sit their own papers: G2 Geography (K226) and G2 Humanities with Geography (K229). The fieldwork question in Pure Geography may use a setting outside the clusters, so it tests method rather than a student's own project. For Social Studies, the other half of Combined Humanities, see our Social Studies SBQ and SRQ guide.

H2 Geography is syllabus 9173 for 2027. Older notes and past papers may carry the earlier code 9751. It has two 3-hour papers:

Paper 1 (100 marks, 50%)Paper 2 (90 marks, 50%)
Structured questionsTwo compulsory questions of 30 marks: Development, Economy and Environment, and Tropical EnvironmentsA 40-mark fieldwork question with a 10-mark evaluative part, and a 30-mark question on Sustainable Future and Climate Change
EssaysTwo 20-mark essays, one from each cluster, each chosen from twoOne 20-mark essay on Sustainable Future and Climate Change, chosen from two

H1 Geography (8834) is one 3-hour paper of 100 marks: a 30-mark fieldwork question, two 22-mark structured questions on Sustainable Future and Climate Change, and two 13-mark essays chosen from three. At A-Level, H2 Geography carries up to 20 of the 70 University Admission Score points and H1 half that. Our A-Level grading system guide shows how the score is built, and our JC subject combination guide helps with the H1 or H2 choice.

Centre, home tutor or online?

A group class is usually the cheapest Geography hour, and the most tailored hour is one-to-one, where every minute goes on one student's own answers. Here is how the published centre fees above compare with the rates on our rate card.

Best forA student who wants a set routine, notes and timed practiceA student stuck on the 9-mark question, fieldwork, or a JC student with no centre nearby

A worked example: a Sec 4 student at a centre charging S$340 for four 1.5-hour lessons pays S$340 a month. One 1.5-hour lesson a week with a part-time tutor at S$35 to S$45 an hour costs S$52.50 to S$67.50 a week, or S$210 to S$270 for four weeks. With a full-time tutor at S$45 to S$65 an hour it costs S$270 to S$390. Many families use a centre for the weekly routine and add a few one-to-one sessions before the prelims, when one weak cluster or the fieldwork question can cost a whole grade. Our geography tuition page explains how we teach Pure, Humanities and H2 Geography one-to-one.

How to choose a geography tuition centre

  1. Confirm the exact coursePure Geography (K329 or K226) and Humanities Geography (K335 or K229) have different papers, and JC has H1 (8834) and H2 (9173). Ask whether the class teaches your child's course or mixes several.
  2. Find where the marks goLook at the last school paper. Lost marks on data description, explanation chains, the 9-mark question or fieldwork each need a different fix.
  3. Ask who teaches and marksGeography improves through marked answers. Ask how many structured answers and 9-mark questions are marked each month, and by whom.
  4. Compare cost per hourTurn every quote into a cost per hour and add registration, deposit, materials and GST. Our table does this for the published fees.
  5. Book one trialAsk what it costs and whether the class covers Climate or Tectonics if your child takes Humanities.
  6. Review after one termCompare the next school paper with the last. If the marks have not moved after about 8 to 10 lessons, ask the centre for a plan or switch.

Trial-lesson checklist

  • Is the class Pure or Elective, G2 or G3, H1 or H2, and does it follow the 2027 syllabus?
  • Who teaches the class all year, and who covers if they are away?
  • How many students are in this exact slot?
  • How many answers are marked each week, and how fast are they returned?
  • Is fieldwork method taught, including evaluating reliability and validity?
  • Are 9-mark questions practised under time, with both sides argued?
  • What does a missed lesson cost, and is there a recording?
  • What notice is needed to stop, and is any deposit refunded?

Common questions

How much does geography tuition at a centre cost in Singapore?

Among the 10 centres we checked on 8 November 2026, published group Geography fees run from S$250 a month (GeogCafe's starting fee) to S$400 a month, or about S$47 to S$60 an hour where the lesson length is published. Two centres do not publish a fee, and registration, deposits and GST can add to the total.

What is the best geography tuition centre in Singapore?

There is no single best centre. GeogCafe is taught by a former Raffles Institution senior teacher, Ancourage Academy has the smallest classes and JC groups, The Humanities Clinic and illum.e name experienced Geography leads, and The Geography Academy suits students who prefer online classes of 5.

Which centres teach H2 Geography?

GeogCafe and Ancourage Academy both publish H1 and H2 Geography classes, and Atutors Learning Centre runs a JC Geography class on Thursday evenings. Inspire Education Centre lists H2 Geography but showed it as not available when we checked.

Which centres teach Combined Humanities Geography?

Bespoke Learning Centre, EduFirst, Inspire Education Centre, Ancourage Academy and Aspire Hub all teach the Geography elective with Social Studies. GeogCafe teaches Sec 4 Elective Geography together with Social Studies.

Which geography centres have the smallest classes?

Ancourage Academy publishes 3 to 6 students and The Geography Academy up to 5 online. The Humanities Clinic and Bespoke Learning Centre cap classes at 8, and EduFirst states 4 to 8 across the centre.

Do geography tuition centres offer trial lessons?

Bespoke Learning Centre advertises a trial at no charge and The Geography Academy's FAQ offers one. Ancourage Academy's standard trial price is S$18, which its site shows as waived. EduFirst and Aspire Hub offer trials without a published price, and the others do not publish trial terms.

What does the 2027 SEC Pure Geography exam include?

Pure Geography (K329) is two papers of 1 hour 45 minutes and 50 marks each, covering five clusters, with a 20-mark fieldwork question in Paper 1. Each paper has one 9-mark question marked by levels, and every other mark is a point mark.

Is Pure Geography harder than Humanities Geography?

Pure Geography covers five clusters over two papers and adds a fieldwork question, while the Humanities Geography paper is one 50-mark paper on three clusters chosen from four. The main difference is breadth, not the style of question.

When should my child start geography tuition?

Sec 3 is the usual start, when the full Geography or Humanities course begins. A student who copes in Sec 3 may wait for the end-of-year exam to show which cluster or skill is weak, and JC students often start in JC1 once essays and fieldwork questions begin.

Are these centres paid to be listed?

No. We chose them by the criteria above and took every fact from each centre's own website on 8 November 2026.
