Best H2 Maths Tuition Centres in Singapore (2027): 10 Compared

Written and reviewed by Theon Teo, Founder · editorial policy

Ten H2 Maths tuition centres in Singapore side by side: published fees turned into a per-hour cost, class sizes, branches with the nearest MRT, trial terms and what to ask at a trial, plus what the 9758 exam tests.

The best H2 Maths tuition centre depends on what your child needs. For the smallest published class led by its founder, look at Math Academy (Bukit Gombak, max 9). For a teacher who used to head JC Maths, look at Andrew Yap Education Centre (Ang Mo Kio) or Debbie's Learning Cove (Marine Parade). For timed paper practice and graphing calculator drills, look at Eclat Institute (Jurong East). In the north, Orion runs H2 classes in Yishun. The lowest published fees are live online classes at Achevas and Math Academy, S$300 for four 2-hour classes.

This guide lists each centre's fees exactly as published, then works out a comparable cost per hour, because centres quote per lesson, per month, per term or per 8-lesson cycle. Every fact was read on the centre's own website on 7 November 2026. If a fact is not on the centre's site, we say "not published" rather than guess.

How we chose these centres

We searched Google for "h2 maths tuition centre", "best h2 math tuition singapore", "jc math tuition centre" and "a level h2 math tuition", and noted the centres that rank and the ones other listicles name. We then kept centres that meet all four tests below.

  1. Teaches H2 Maths as a named programmeThe centre runs a dedicated JC1 or JC2 H2 Maths class, not just a general "maths" class.
  2. Publishes its programmeIts website shows at least the fee, the schedule or the teacher for H2 Maths.
  3. Runs active branchesIt lists a current address or a 2027 timetable.
  4. Spread of area, price and styleTogether, the 10 cover every region of Singapore, small and large classes, on-site and online, and a range of fees.

All facts were checked on 7 November 2026. Fees change, often each January, so confirm the current figure before you pay. No centre paid to appear here, and the order is alphabetical in the detail section, not a ranking.

The 10 H2 Maths tuition centres compared

The per-hour figure is our own estimate. We divided the published fee by the published number of lesson hours. Where a centre does not publish lesson length, we could not work it out.

The 10 centres in detail

Achevas

What is distinctive. Achevas sorts each H2 topic on a scale from theory-heavy to practice-heavy and plans lessons to match, which it calls its TCPC method. Every missed class can be replaced or watched as a full recording. Its named tutors are Jack Ng (NUS First Class Honours), Keith Chin (over 20 years of A-Level Maths teaching) and Gabriel You (PhD, Materials Science).

Suits: a student who wants to mix on-site and online lessons, or who misses classes for CCA. May not suit: a student who wants a very small class, since on-site classes typically have about 10 to 12 students.

Fees as published: S$400 per 4 weekly on-site classes of about 2 hours. Live online is S$300 per 4 classes, or less for friends who sign up together (S$260 each for 2, S$220 each for 3, S$180 each for 4). Moving one online class to on-site costs up to S$100. No registration fee or deposit is mentioned. There is no fixed notice period for withdrawal.

Branches: Jurong, 21 Jurong Gateway, CPF Jurong Building #04-01 (Jurong East MRT). Marine Parade, Roxy Square #02-125 (Marine Parade MRT). Hougang, The Midtown #02-11 (Hougang MRT).

Website: achevas.com

Ask at the trial: How many students are in this exact class? Is the recording available the same day? Who will teach this slot for the whole year?

What is distinctive. The founder, Andrew Yap, holds a Master's in Mathematics from NUS and is a former Subject Head of Mathematics at Hwa Chong Institution (College Section) and a former Head of Mathematics at River Valley High School. The centre opened in 2010 and runs a Wednesday class for RI students alongside weekend JC1 and JC2 classes.

Suits: a student who wants a teacher with senior JC department experience, in the north-east. May not suit: a student who needs weekday evening slots, since the published JC classes are on Saturday, Sunday and one Wednesday afternoon.

Fees as published: S$400 per 4 lessons for JC1 or JC2, each lesson 2 hours. A S$30 registration fee is non-refundable. The site states no GST and no deposit.

Branch: Block 302 Ang Mo Kio Ave 3, #01-1842 (Ang Mo Kio MRT). Live online classes and recordings for missed lessons are offered.

What does the H2 Maths exam actually test?

H2 Mathematics, syllabus 9758, is examined in two 3-hour papers. Each is marked out of 100 and carries 50% of the grade. An approved graphing calculator without a computer algebra system is expected, and the List of Formulae and Results (MF27) is provided in the exam. A good centre should teach to this structure, not just the school's topic order.

Paper 1Paper 2
Length and marks3 hours, 100 marks3 hours, 100 marks
ContentPure Mathematics onlySection A: Pure Mathematics, 40 marks. Section B: Probability and Statistics, 60 marks
Questions10 to 12 questions4 to 5 in Section A, 6 to 8 in Section B
Real-world applicationOne question of at least 12 marksOne question of at least 12 marks in Section B

Over both papers, Pure Mathematics is 140 of the 200 marks and Probability and Statistics is 60. SEAB weights the skills as 30% using techniques (AO1), 60% formulating and solving problems (AO2) and 10% reasoning and communicating (AO3). That 60% is why timed, unfamiliar questions matter more than drilling routine ones.

The six topic areas are:

  • Pure MathematicsFunctions and graphsFunctions, inverses and composites, graph transformations, equations and inequalities.
  • Pure MathematicsSequences and seriesArithmetic and geometric series, sums to infinity and sequences from a recurrence relation.
  • Pure MathematicsVectorsScalar and vector products, equations of lines and planes, angles and distances in three dimensions.
  • Pure MathematicsIntroduction to complex numbersCartesian form and Argand diagrams. The 2027 syllabus excludes polar and exponential forms.
  • Pure MathematicsCalculusDifferentiation, Maclaurin series, integration techniques, definite integrals and differential equations.
  • Paper 2 Section BProbability and StatisticsProbability, discrete random variables, normal distribution, sampling, hypothesis testing, correlation and regression.

Before a trial, have your child look through our MF27 formula list guide so they know which results are given and which must be remembered. Our guide on how to score a distinction in H2 Maths covers paper strategy. Grades run from A to E for a pass, then S and U, and an H2 A is worth 20 of the 70 rank points, as our A-Level grading system guide explains.

Centre, home tutor or online?

The cheapest hour is usually a live online group class. The most tailored hour is one-to-one. Here is how the published centre fees above compare with the JC rates on our rate card.

Best forA student who keeps up and wants structure and peersA student who is behind, anxious, or aiming for an A from a B

A worked example: a JC1 student who attends a 2-hour weekly class at S$400 for four lessons pays S$100 a week. One 1.5-hour lesson a week with a full-time tutor at S$65 to S$90 an hour costs S$97.50 to S$135.50 a week. Many families use a centre for the weekly lesson and add a few one-to-one sessions before promos or prelims.

How to choose an H2 Maths tuition centre

  1. Start from the gapLook at the last school test. Weak in Pure Maths topics such as calculus or vectors, weak in statistics, or losing marks on time? Pick a centre whose method fits.
  2. Compare cost per hourTurn every quote into a cost per hour, and add registration, materials, deposit and GST. Our table does this for the published fees.
  3. Check the class size for your slotAsk for the actual number in the class your child would join, not the average.
  4. Book one trialSeveral centres charge for the trial lesson. Ask what it costs and whether the fee is refunded if you do not continue.
  5. Watch for three things in the trialYour child should leave with one method they did not have before, get a question answered in person, and be given practice with full worked solutions.
  6. Review after one monthCompare the next school test with the last. If nothing has changed after about 6 to 8 lessons, ask the centre for a plan or switch.

Trial-lesson checklist

  • Who teaches the class for the whole year, and who covers if they are away?
  • How many students are in this exact slot?
  • Is the material matched to 9758 and MF27, with timed Paper 1 and Paper 2 practice?
  • Is graphing calculator use taught?
  • How are questions handled between lessons?
  • What does a missed lesson cost, and is there a recording?
  • What notice is needed to stop, and is any deposit refunded?

Common questions

How much does H2 Maths tuition at a centre cost in Singapore?

Among the 10 centres we checked on 7 November 2026, published fees run from S$300 (online) to S$480 a month for about four lessons. That works out to roughly S$37.50 to S$67 an hour, before any registration fee, deposit or GST.

What is the best H2 Maths tuition centre in Singapore?

There is no single best centre. Math Academy has the smallest published class led by its founder, Andrew Yap and Debbie's Learning Cove are run by former JC Maths heads or lecturers, and Zenith has the most branches.

Which H2 Maths centres have the smallest classes?

Eclat Institute and MuscleMath publish a maximum of 8, and Math Academy a maximum of 9. Achevas states about 10 to 12 on site, Orion an average of 10, Debbie's Learning Cove a maximum of 14 and Zenith up to 60.

Do H2 Maths centres offer trial lessons?

Most offer one, and several charge for it. Tim Gan Math charges its normal lesson rate, Achevas charges S$100 on site or S$75 online, and The Math Lab treats the whole first month as a refundable trial.

When should my child start H2 Maths tuition?

Several centres open JC1 classes before JC starts. Eclat Institute's early intake runs from October and Debbie's Learning Cove starts its 2027 JC1 class on 10 January 2027. Starting before JC1 promos gives time to fix gaps in functions and calculus, which carry into JC2.

Is H2 Maths tuition online as good as a physical class?

Online classes are often cheaper, at S$300 for four lessons at Math Academy and Achevas, and usually come with recordings. They suit a student who will ask questions on screen. A student who drifts in online lessons may do better on site.

Is one-to-one tuition better than a centre for H2 Maths?

One-to-one follows a single student's gaps and school schedule, which helps a student who is behind or anxious. It costs more per hour, at S$45 to S$130 on our JC rate card, compared with about S$45 to S$67 at the centres above.

What does the H2 Maths A-Level exam include?

Two 3-hour papers of 100 marks each. Paper 1 is Pure Mathematics, and Paper 2 is 40 marks of Pure Mathematics and 60 marks of Probability and Statistics. A graphing calculator is expected, and the MF27 formula list is provided.

How many rank points is an A in H2 Maths worth?

An A in an H2 subject is worth 20 of the 70 University Admission Score points. A B is 17.5 and a C is 15.

Are these centres paid to be listed?

No. We chose them by the criteria above and took every fact from each centre's own website on 7 November 2026.
