Primary 5 Science carries the heaviest content load of the primary years. The P5 MOE Science syllabus covers cells and systems (human and plant), the digestive, respiratory, circulatory and reproductive systems, energy and energy conversion, and the water cycle — substantially more than P3–P4. P5 is also where the PSLE-style open-ended question begins to dominate marks: questions that ask the student to apply a concept to an unfamiliar scenario, not just recall a fact.
