PSLE Score Calculator
Work out your child’s PSLE Score in seconds. Enter the raw exam mark for each of the four subjects — the calculator converts each mark to its Achievement Level and totals them into the PSLE Score, which runs from 4 (best) to 32.
PSLE Score Calculator
Enter the raw exam mark (out of 100) for each subject. Each mark is converted to its Achievement Level, and the four ALs are summed.
Enter all four marks to see the PSLE Score (4–32).
How the PSLE Score works
Since 2021, the PSLE has used Achievement Levels instead of the older T-score aggregate. Each subject is scored on its own, against fixed mark bands — your child’s AL does not depend on how other students performed. The four subject ALs are then added together to give the PSLE Score.
| Achievement Level | Raw mark range |
|---|---|
| AL1 | 90 – 100 |
| AL2 | 85 – 89 |
| AL3 | 80 – 84 |
| AL4 | 75 – 79 |
| AL5 | 65 – 74 |
| AL6 | 45 – 64 |
| AL7 | 20 – 44 |
| AL8 | Below 20 |
A PSLE Score of 4 is the strongest possible result. Because the score is a sum of ALs, a lower number is better. The score broadly determines which secondary schools your child can be posted to, alongside each school’s yearly cut-off point and your order of choices.
Frequently asked questions
How is the PSLE Score calculated?
Each of the four PSLE subjects — English, Mathematics, Science and Mother Tongue — is given an Achievement Level (AL) from 1 to 8 based on its raw exam mark. The PSLE Score is the sum of the four ALs, so it ranges from 4 (the best possible) to 32.
What is the best possible PSLE Score?
The best possible PSLE Score is 4 — an AL1 in all four subjects. AL1 is awarded for a raw mark of 90 and above. The score then rises one point at a time, up to a maximum of 32.
What are the PSLE Achievement Level mark ranges?
AL1 is 90 marks and above, AL2 is 85–89, AL3 is 80–84, AL4 is 75–79, AL5 is 65–74, AL6 is 45–64, AL7 is 20–44, and AL8 is below 20. The higher bands have narrower ranges because distinction is harder to achieve at the top.
Is a lower or higher PSLE Score better?
A lower PSLE Score is better. Because the score sums the Achievement Levels and AL1 is the strongest band, the smallest totals reflect the strongest results. A lower score also widens the range of secondary schools your child can be posted to.
Does this calculator cover Foundation-level subjects?
This calculator uses the Standard-level Achievement Level bands. Foundation-level subjects are graded on a separate scale and converted differently for the PSLE Score. If your child takes Foundation subjects, speak to us for an accurate projection.
