Few tuition centres teach H2 Further Mathematics. We found eight centres and specialist tutors whose own sites name the subject, turned their fees into an hourly figure, and set out what the 9649 papers test and how heavy the subject really is.
Four starting points:
A class with peers on the same syllabus: Power Mathematics in Toa Payoh runs separate JC1 and JC2 Further Maths groups on Sundays.
The lowest published hourly fee: Fig Learning Centre near Bras Basah lists H2 Further Mathematics and charges S$60 an hour for group lessons.
One-to-one at the JC's pace: SG Maths Tuition in Kovan teaches Further Maths one to one only, with a maths PhD as tutor.
No travel: Think-Nth teaches online only.
Further Maths is a small subject, so a typical H2 Maths centre list is little help. Of the 18 providers that turn up for Further Maths in Singapore, these are the eight that name the subject themselves.

Our own service: a private Further Maths tutor
This box is about The Singapore Syllabus, the site you are reading. We are not one of the eight ranked options.
The largest competing list of Further Maths centres names eight. A provider stayed in only if its own website names H2 Further Mathematics, Further Maths or F Maths as something it teaches.
Five of that list's eight passed. Three did not: Stalford's JC page lists only JC Mathematics, KRTC's JC page lists Mathematics H1, H2 and H3, and Mathematical Sciences Learning Centre's programme page lists no Further Maths. We added MindQuest, Think-Nth and Tutopiya, whose sites do name it. No centre paid to be listed here. They appear in alphabetical order.

What H2 Further Maths 9649 actually tests
SEAB's 2027 syllabus says H2 Further Mathematics is offered with H2 Mathematics as a double mathematics course, and the whole of H2 Maths is assumed knowledge. It is meant for students heading into mathematics, science or engineering. Our longer Further Maths 9649 guide has a worked example and a two-year plan.

Which JCs offer it
Not every JC runs the subject. These colleges say on their own sites that they do:
JC
What the college says
Anglo-Chinese JC
Students must clear a Further Mathematics Proficiency Test at orientation, subject combination limits apply, and the workload is heavy
Nanyang JC
Lists H2 Further Mathematics 9649, to be taken with H2 Mathematics
Tampines Meridian JC
For students with a strong interest and aptitude in maths
Temasek JC
Offers double mathematics, H2 Maths with H2 Further Maths, for students aiming at engineering
Victoria JC
Demands are considerably higher than H2 Maths, taught together with H2 Maths
Other JCs may offer it too, so check the college's subject combination page. Our JC subject combination guide covers how the four content subjects fit together.
What universities say
NUS lists "H2 pass in Mathematics or Further Mathematics" for Engineering, Computer Engineering and Business Analytics. It also names Further Mathematics as one option for Computer Science, Information Security, Food Science and Technology, Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Science. Because Further Maths is always taken with H2 Maths, these rules rarely change who can apply. SEAB describes its value as a head start on a wider range of mathematical methods for university.
The workload, honestly
ACJC tells students they must be self-driven and hand in work regularly for two years. VJC calls the demands considerably higher than H2 Maths. In practice, a Further Maths student carries two full maths subjects plus two other content subjects, GP and Project Work in JC1. Tuition helps most when the student is behind on one specific strand, such as linear spaces or the statistics tests, rather than as a general top-up.

How to choose
1Check the JC's topic orderAsk the college which Further Maths topics come in JC1 Term 1 and Term 2, then ask each provider whether it follows the same order.
2Ask who teaches the statistics halfPaper 2 Section B is 50 marks. Some tutors are stronger on pure maths, so ask by name.
3Ask about the H2 Maths linkFurther Maths builds on H2 Maths. A provider who can teach both, or coordinate with your H2 Maths teacher, saves time.
4Use the trial for one hard topicBring a question on linear spaces, eigenvectors or a hypothesis test and watch how it is explained.
5Count the total costAdd registration, materials and holiday crash courses to the monthly fee before you compare.
6Review after JC1 promotionsResults there show whether to continue with Further Maths, change tutor or drop to H2 Maths alone.
Common questions
How many tuition centres in Singapore teach H2 Further Maths?
Very few. Of the 18 providers that turn up for Further Maths, eight named Further Maths on their own sites, and only Power Mathematics showed separate JC1 and JC2 Further Maths group classes.
How much does Further Maths tuition cost in Singapore?
Published rates run from S$60 an hour for a group at Fig Learning Centre to S$160 an hour one to one at Power Mathematics. Private tutors on our JC rate card cost S$45 to S$130 an hour.
Is a Further Maths tutor the same as an H2 Maths tutor?
Not always. Many H2 Maths tutors have never taught linear spaces, polar coordinates or non-parametric tests, so ask directly whether the tutor has taught the 9649 syllabus.
Can my child take Further Maths without H2 Maths?
No. SEAB says it is offered with H2 Mathematics as a double mathematics course, and it assumes all of H2 Maths.
Does Further Maths count for the University Admission Score?
Yes. It is a full H2 subject with its own grade, so it can be one of the three H2 subjects counted, and a weak grade counts against the score like any other.
Does NUS require Further Maths for Engineering?
No. NUS asks for an H2 pass in Mathematics or Further Mathematics for Engineering, so H2 Maths alone meets the rule.
When should Further Maths tuition start?
Many students start in JC1 Term 1, as the first topics build directly on H2 Maths. Power Mathematics starts its new JC1 Further Maths class on 15 November 2026, before the 2027 JC year begins.
Can one tutor teach both H2 Maths and Further Maths?
Yes. SG Maths Tuition, Power Mathematics and Fig Learning Centre all list both subjects, and a private tutor can split each lesson between them.
Is there a Further Maths class in the north or west of Singapore?
We found no dedicated Further Maths class in the north. In the west, MindQuest's Jurong East H2 class is taught by a tutor who states Further Maths experience, and online lessons cover the rest of the island.
