Best Tuition Centres in Woodlands, Singapore (2027): 10 Compared

Written and reviewed by Theon Teo, Founder · editorial policy

Ten tuition centres with a branch in Woodlands, from Causeway Point and Woodlands Square to Admiralty, Marsiling and Woodlands North Plaza, compared on published fees, our cost per hour estimate, class size, branch address, nearest MRT and trial terms. Every fact was read from each centre's own website on 8 November 2026.

The best tuition centre in Woodlands is the one that fits your child's subject, level and trip home. From what each centre publishes, EduZ has the lowest published fee per hour, with branches near Marsiling and Admiralty MRT and classes from primary to JC. Ancourage Academy at Vista Point suits a child who needs a small group of 3 to 6. The Science Academy, inside Woodlands MRT station, suits primary Science answering technique. MasterMaths suits Maths from P1 to Sec 4 for one flat monthly fee near Admiralty. Huá Language Centre at Causeway Point suits Chinese, and The Writer's Place suits primary composition. For upper Sec and JC sciences, look at SmartLab and APMC Learning Centre on Woodlands Street 82.

No centre paid to appear here, and the order below is alphabetical, not a ranking. We are a home tuition agency, so these centres are an alternative to what we offer. That is why every fact comes from the centre's own website, with the source and date in our research notes. For a single subject across all of Singapore, see our guides to the best primary tuition centres and the best PSLE Science tuition centres.

How we chose these centres

We started from the centres that rank on Google Singapore for "tuition centre woodlands", "woodlands tuition", "causeway point tuition centre", "maths tuition woodlands" and "english tuition woodlands", plus those named on the top local lists. A centre made the list if it met these tests:

  • It has a branch in Woodlands (including the Admiralty and Marsiling sides of the town) with an address on its own website.
  • It publishes its programme, so a parent can check levels and subjects before calling.
  • It covers a different need, level or price from the others. Together the 10 span primary, secondary and JC, plus Chinese and English writing.
  • It has active classes or a current timetable on its site.

All facts were checked on 8 November 2026. Fees change, so confirm the figure with the centre before you enrol. Where a centre does not publish something, we say "not published". The nearest MRT is the centre's own wording where it gives one. Where it does not, we name the closest station from a map check of the postcode on OneMap and say so.

The comparison table

The per-hour figure is our estimate, worked out from the published fee and the published lesson length. It leaves out registration, deposits, materials and GST unless the centre includes them, and each centre's section lists those costs.

The 10 centres in detail

Ancourage Academy

What is distinctive. A small-group centre that keeps every group class to 3 to 6 students, from kindergarten to JC. It names its own method, an ESB framework that combines scheduled revision, guided questioning and steps of rising difficulty. Lessons are 1 hour for kindergarten, 1.5 hours for primary and 2 hours for secondary and JC, and all worksheets are included. Primary covers English, Maths and Chinese from P1, Science from P3 and Higher Chinese at P5 and P6.

Who it suits. A child in Woodlands South who goes quiet in a big class and needs a teacher who asks questions, at any level up to JC. Who it may not suit. A family that wants to compare fees online, since prices are quoted only by WhatsApp.

Fees as published. Not published. The centre sells packages of 4, 12 or 24 lessons and quotes by level, subject and class type. Registration and material fees are not mentioned, and the 24-lesson package carries a deposit whose amount is not published. The standard price of a trial lesson is S$18.

Branch. Vista Point, 548 Woodlands Drive 44, #02-16, Singapore 730548, about a 5-minute walk from Woodlands South MRT, as the centre states. Open from noon on weekdays and from 9am at weekends. The other branch is in Bishan, and primary classes also run online.

Website. ancourage.academy. Phone and WhatsApp +65 8849 8106.

Questions to ask. What is the price per lesson for my child's level on each package? How many students are in the class now? Is the trial still at the standard S$18 when we book?

APMC Learning Centre

What is distinctive. A Woodlands centre for Physics and Maths, with Chemistry and Science too, from P4 to JC. Every class has 2 tutors for up to 8 students, so one leads while the other checks each student's working. Sessions are 2 hours a week, and its Physics page covers Pure and Combined Physics at IP, O and N Level, plus JC H1 and H2 Physics.

Who it suits. A Sec 3 to JC2 student near Woodlands North Plaza who needs Physics or H2 Maths with close checking of working. Who it may not suit. A family that wants a clear standard fee before calling.

Fees as published. The fee page lists monthly fees with a 20% promotional discount applied and does not state the standard fee, so we leave the discounted figures out. It states a usual registration fee of S$100, a material fee of S$50 a semester, one replacement class a month per subject for valid absences, and no lock-in beyond the semester. The home page offers a 4-lesson training block, price not published.

Branch. 820 Woodlands Street 82, #01-383, Singapore 730820, from the address on its own site. The centre does not state the MRT. By our map check Woodlands MRT is about 650 m away in a straight line.

Website. apmtuition.com. WhatsApp +65 9836 4183.

Questions to ask. What is the standard monthly fee once the discount ends? How many lessons are in a month? What does the 4-lesson training block cost?

EduZ

What is distinctive. A centre with one fee table for all its branches and online classes, from primary to JC, with printed notes and worksheets included and tablets used in class. It charges no registration or material fee and gives S$20 off for two subjects and S$60 off for three or more. Every centre teaches primary, secondary and JC classes.

Who it suits. A family near Marsiling or Admiralty watching cost, or taking two or three subjects. Who it may not suit. A family that wants a stated class size, since it is not published.

Our estimate is S$25 to S$30 an hour at primary, about S$27.50 to S$42 at secondary and S$40 at JC. The centre confirms the exact fee by subject. New students can book one trial lesson at no charge in a regular class.

A centre beside Woodlands MRT is easy to reach after school, and a good class gives a child steady practice with peers. A 1-to-1 tutor makes more sense when the gap is narrow and specific, such as Science answers that miss keywords or A Math proofs, or when a child is already doing two CCAs. Online classes, such as those at Ancourage Academy, EduZ and MasterMaths, save the trip but need a child who can focus on a screen. For the same subjects across Singapore, see the best Physics tuition centres, the best A Math tuition centres and the best Chinese tuition in Singapore.

How to choose

  1. Name the gapRead your child's last few tests. Is it a whole subject, one topic, or exam technique? A Science technique class and a Maths centre solve different problems.
  2. Check the class sizeA child who goes quiet in a big class often does better with 6 or fewer. Ask the number in the class your child would join, not the centre's average.
  3. Work out the cost per hourDivide the monthly or term fee by the hours of class. Add registration, deposit, materials and GST for the first month.
  4. Keep the trip shortA centre on your child's MRT line or bus route home is easier to keep up for a whole year. In Woodlands, check whether it is at Woodlands Square, on Street 82, at Vista Point or on the Admiralty side.
  5. Book a trial and judge itUse the checklist below, then decide within a week.

At the trial, check that:

  • your child is given a question to try before the teacher shows the answer
  • the teacher explains why an answer loses marks, not just what the right answer is
  • the class works from your child's school syllabus and level, such as Standard or Foundation, or G2 or G3
  • you hear specific feedback afterwards, not just "doing well"
  • your child comes out willing to go back next week.
