Best Primary School Tuition Centres in Singapore (2027): 10 Compared

Written and reviewed by Theon Teo, Founder · editorial policy

Ten tuition centres for lower and middle primary (P1 to P4) in Singapore, compared on published fees, our cost per hour estimate, class size, branches and trial terms for English, Maths, Science and Chinese. Every fact was read from each centre's own website on 7 November 2026.

The best primary school tuition centre is the one that fits your child's level, subject gap and travel time. From what each centre publishes, Jan & Elly fits a P1 or P2 child who needs reading, phonics and English foundations. Ancourage Academy has the smallest stated classes, at 3 to 6 students. The Science Academy suits a P3 child meeting Science for the first time, and Ruixing Chinese suits a child who needs Chinese in a group of 6 or fewer. EduZ Tuition in the north has the lowest published fee per hour in our estimate, and MindChamps has the most branches, with 22 centres running P1 to P5 classes.

No centre paid to appear here, and the order below is alphabetical, not a ranking. We are a home tuition agency, so these centres are an alternative to what we offer. That is why every fact comes from the centre's own website, with the source and date in our research notes. For P5 and P6, see our separate guides to the best PSLE tuition centres and the best PSLE Maths tuition centres. This list avoids repeating their centres.

How we chose these centres

We started from the centres that rank on Google Singapore for "primary school tuition centre", "p1 tuition centre", "p3 tuition centre" and "best primary tuition singapore", plus those named by the top listicles for P1 to P4. A centre made the list if it met these tests:

  • It teaches lower or middle primary as a core programme, with classes that start at P1, or at P3 for a Science specialist.
  • It publishes its programme on its own website, so a parent can check levels, subjects and branches before calling.
  • It has active branches with addresses on its site.
  • It covers a different need, area or price from the others, so the 10 together span English, Maths, Science and Chinese across every region.

Centres already in our two PSLE guides were left out where another centre met the same need. All facts were checked on 7 November 2026. Fees change, so confirm the figure with the centre before you enrol. Where a centre does not publish something, we say "not published".

The comparison table

The per-hour figure is our estimate, worked out from the published fee and the published lesson length. It leaves out registration, deposits, materials and GST unless the centre includes them, and each centre's section lists those costs.

We could not read a Google rating and reviewer count from a source we could open today for these centres, so the column says "not checked" rather than guess. Look up the branch you would use on Google Maps before you visit.

The 10 centres in detail

Ancourage Academy

What is distinctive. A small-group centre that keeps every class to 3 to 6 students. It names its own ESB method, which combines spaced retrieval, Socratic questioning and the concrete, pictorial and abstract sequence used in Singapore Maths. Its P3 Maths outline includes fraction equivalence and the bar model, and its lower primary Chinese focuses on Hanyu Pinyin, character recognition and sentence building. Parents get regular progress updates, a yearly parent-teacher meeting and WhatsApp homework help.

Who it suits. A child who goes quiet in a big class and needs a teacher close by, in central or north Singapore. Who it may not suit. A family that wants to compare fees before calling, since fees are quoted on request.

Fees as published. Not published. The centre states fees depend on level, subject and class type, with all materials included and no registration, material or administrative fees. Fees are paid in advance in packages of 4, 12 or 24 lessons.

Branches. Bishan (152 Bishan Street 11, near Bishan MRT) and Woodlands (Vista Point, 548 Woodlands Drive 44, near Woodlands South MRT).

Website. ancourage.academy. Phone +65 8849 8106.

Questions to ask. What is the monthly fee for my child's level and subject? How long is each lesson? How many children are in the class I would join?

Bespoke Learning

What is distinctive. A neighbourhood centre teaching all four primary subjects in groups of 4 to 8, with an optional MPM Maths enrichment add-on that works on logic and problem solving. Its English programme gives composition extra time each week, with individual feedback on every piece of writing. Science lessons teach the concept first, then the answering technique markers look for.

Who it suits. A family in the north, north-east or east that wants one centre for English, Maths and Science at a published price. Who it may not suit. A parent who wants to know the hourly cost up front, since lesson length is not published.

Fees as published. S$200 a month for P1 and P2 and S$220 a month for P3 and P4, nett, based on 4 sessions a month, for English, Maths and Science. Months with 5 sessions are pro-rated. Registration, deposit and the MPM add-on price are not published.

Branches. Yishun (Khatib Central, 846 Yishun Ring Road), Punggol (SAFRA Punggol), Tampines (CPF Building, near Tampines MRT) and Sembawang (Canberra CC). Nearest MRT is stated only for Tampines.

Website. bespokelearning.sg. WhatsApp +65 8775 5292.

Questions to ask. How long is each lesson? Is there a registration fee or deposit? What does the MPM add-on cost, and does my child need it?

EduZ Tuition

What is distinctive. A four-centre group in the north, founded in 2010 by two former school teachers by its own account. Its P1 lessons cover phonics and sentence structure in English, numbers to 100, money and time in Maths, and Hanyu Pinyin and character writing in Chinese. Its P3 page describes teaching word problems through the model method and Science answering technique from the first year. Parents get a short progress note after every lesson.

Who it suits. A family in Woodlands, Admiralty, Choa Chu Kang or Yishun watching cost, or taking two or three subjects. Who it may not suit. A family that wants a stated class size in numbers, since the centre says only "small groups".

Fees as published. S$150 to S$180 for 4 lessons of 1.5 hours, depending on subject, so our estimate is S$25 to S$30 an hour. The centre states there is no registration fee and no material fee, with S$20 off for two subjects and S$60 off for three or more. The same fees apply at all four centres and online.

Branches. Woodlands (306 Woodlands Street 31, about 5 minutes from Marsiling MRT), Admiralty (736 Woodlands Circle, about 10 minutes from Admiralty MRT), Choa Chu Kang (223 Choa Chu Kang Central, about 5 minutes from Choa Chu Kang MRT) and Yishun (658 Yishun Avenue 4, about 12 minutes from Khatib MRT), as the centre describes them.

Website. eduztuition.com. WhatsApp +65 9062 5285.

Questions to ask. Which fee in the S$150 to S$180 band applies to my child's subject? How many children are in the class? Who writes the progress note?

Edufront

What is distinctive. A multi-branch centre that publishes level-by-level Science fees and also teaches Malay, which few centres on this list cover. Science lessons run 1.5 hours a week with up to 12 pupils per tutor, in the centre or live online at the same fee. Tutors send feedback after the trial lesson.

Who it suits. A family in the west or east, a child starting Science in P3, or a child who needs Malay as well as English and Maths. Who it may not suit. A child who needs a very small group, since the cap is 12.

Fees as published. Science S$200 a month for P3 and S$210 for P4, for 4 lessons of 1.5 hours, so our estimate is about S$33 and S$35 an hour before 9% GST. English and Maths fees by level are not published, and the centre gives a general range of S$170 to S$300 a month per subject. Registration is S$30, the deposit S$50 per programme and materials S$60 a semester. A trial lesson costs S$10.90.

Branches. Jurong West (824 Jurong West Street 81, near Boon Lay and Pioneer MRT), Choa Chu Kang (233 Choa Chu Kang Central, about 5 minutes' walk from Choa Chu Kang MRT), Woodlands (721 Woodlands Circle), Tampines (614 Tampines North Drive 1, about 12 minutes from Tampines East MRT) and two in Pasir Ris (Elias Road and Pasir Ris Drive 4).

Website. edufront.com. Phone +65 6025 4052.

Questions to ask. What are the English and Maths fees for my child's level? How many children are in the class now? Is the deposit refunded when we stop?

Jan & Elly

What is distinctive. An English specialist that states it has taught phonics and primary English for over 30 years. It runs a reading and writing class that bridges into P1, a P1 to P6 English programme and composition classes from P2. P1 and P2 lessons focus on reading, vocabulary and sentence construction. Lessons are 1.5 hours, and teachers brief parents a few minutes before each class ends.

Who it suits. A P1 or P2 child who is still a hesitant reader, or one who needs grammar and vocabulary built early. Who it may not suit. A child who needs close attention, since classes are capped at 8 to 10, or a family that wants to compare fees online.

Fees as published. Not published. A current offer on its home page waives a S$65 registration fee at its Toa Payoh centre. The centre offers an assessment and a trial session, and its current offer makes the assessment available at no charge.

Branches. Bukit Timah Plaza (near Beauty World and King Albert Park MRT), Greenwich V (1 Seletar Road), iMall (Marine Parade Central, a short walk from Marine Parade MRT), Toa Payoh Central Community Centre and The Woodleigh Mall (connected to Woodleigh MRT).

Website. jan-elly.com. Phone 9104 1804 (Bukit Timah).

Questions to ask. What is the monthly fee for P1 English? How many children are in my child's class at this branch? Does the trial cost anything?

MindChamps

What is distinctive. A large enrichment brand running English, Maths, Science and Chinese for P1 to P5 at 22 centres. Its programme FAQ gives a 1:15 teacher to student ratio, 2-hour weekly lessons and 10 lessons a term.

Who it suits. A family that wants a centre near home almost anywhere in Singapore, and a child who is comfortable in a larger class. Who it may not suit. A child who needs close, small-group attention, or a family that wants published fees.

Fees as published. Not published for the P1 to P5 programme. Registration and deposit are not published either.

Branches. 22 for P1 to P5, including Woodlands, Sembawang, Yishun, Sengkang (Greenwich V), Punggol, Serangoon, Tampines, Pasir Ris, East Coast, Jurong West, Clementi, West Coast, Novena, Toa Payoh and Bukit Timah. Nearest MRT is not listed for most centres.

Website. mindchamps.org. WhatsApp +65 8332 0020.

Questions to ask. What is the term fee for my child's level? How many children are in the class at my branch? Does the trial cost anything?

Miracle Learning Centre

What is distinctive. A Maths and Science centre at Beauty World with a notes and worksheets approach and classes capped at 8. The centre states around 90% of its teachers are registered with MOE, and it names its primary Maths tutors on its site. P1 to P4 lessons are 1.5 hours.

Who it suits. A child near Bukit Timah who needs Maths, or Maths and Science from P3, in a small group. Who it may not suit. A family that wants to try a class at no cost, since the centre says it runs no free trials and trial lessons are paid.

Fees as published. S$240 per subject for 4 lessons for P1 to P4, so our estimate is S$40 an hour. Registration and deposit are not published, and seats are reserved only on payment.

Branch. Beauty World Centre, 144 Upper Bukit Timah Road #03-01, near Beauty World MRT.

Website. miraclelearningcentre.com. Phone 6463 8756.

Questions to ask. What does a trial lesson cost? How many children are in my child's class now? Which tutor takes P3 Maths?

Ruixing Chinese

What is distinctive. A Chinese language specialist that keeps in-person groups to 6 students, with 2-hour lessons and materials included. It also runs kindergarten (K1 and K2) classes and 1-to-1 lessons.

Who it suits. A child from an English-speaking home who needs Chinese built steadily in a small group, near the city. Who it may not suit. A family in the heartlands, since it has one centre, or a child who needs other subjects at the same place.

Fees as published. P1 and P2 S$268 a month and P3 and P4 S$288 a month, for 4 lessons of 2 hours, so our estimate is S$33.50 and S$36 an hour. Registration is S$20, and a S$100 deposit is refunded if you stop with one month's notice. Primary 1-to-1 lessons cost S$488 a month (S$60 an hour). GST is not mentioned.

Branch. ICB Enterprise House, 116 Middle Road #05-04, Bugis. Nearest MRT is not stated by the centre.

Website. ruixingchinese.com.sg. Phone +65 6256 6227.

Questions to ask. Are fees inclusive of GST? Does the class follow my child's school textbook? How is Hanyu Pinyin taught in P1?

SuperMath

What is distinctive. A Maths-only centre with a three-step method: a short quiz before class so the teacher knows the child's level, an in-class lesson built on that quiz, and an assessment after class. Students can book a monthly 1-to-1 session with their teacher, and the centre shares updates through its own app. Its P1 page lists number bonds, numbers to 100, shapes, measurement and simple word problems.

Who it suits. A child in the east who needs Maths foundations with regular checks. Who it may not suit. A family that wants published fees and class sizes, or a parent who wants to sit in, which the centre does not allow.

Fees as published. Not published. The centre offers a trial at no charge and an entry test at no charge.

Branch. Parkway Parade, 80 Marine Parade Road #10-03. Nearest MRT is not stated by the centre.

Website. supermath.com.sg. Phone +65 8809 3591.

Questions to ask. What is the monthly fee, and how long is each lesson? How many children are in the class? How does the monthly 1-to-1 session work?

The Science Academy

What is distinctive. A Science specialist from P3 to P6 whose approach is built on one idea it states plainly: most marks are lost on how answers are written, not on the concepts. Lessons are 2 hours a week. P3 classes appear on its Tampines and Toa Payoh timetable.

Who it suits. A P3 child starting Science who needs answering technique from the first term. Who it may not suit. A family that wants a stated class size, since it is not published, or a P3 child in the north, since P3 is listed only at Tampines and Toa Payoh.

Fees as published. P3 and P4 S$260 a month or S$65 a session, for 2-hour lessons, so our estimate is S$32.50 an hour. The page also shows S$247 a month without saying when it applies. Registration and deposit are not published.

Branches. Toa Payoh (192 Lorong 4 Toa Payoh), Tampines (Our Tampines Hub, 1 Tampines Walk) and Woodlands (11 Woodlands Square, at Woodlands MRT).

Website. thescienceacademy.sg. Phone +65 6566 8425.

Questions to ask. When does the S$247 monthly rate apply? How many children are in the P3 class? Is the trial class charged?

What the exam actually tests

Lower and middle primary has no national exam. Schools set their own assessments, and MOE has cut them back on purpose over the past few years. Here is what each level looks like.

LevelWhat countsWhat it means for tuition
P1 and P2No weighted assessments or exams since 2019. Progress is reported with descriptions, not marksBuild reading, number sense and Chinese habits. Marks are not the goal
P3Science starts. No mid-year exam since 2020 to 2021. Schools set weighted assessments and a year-end examLearn answering technique in Science and the bar model in Maths
P4No mid-year exam since 2023 at the latest. Weighted assessments and a year-end examYear-end results lead to the subject combination for P5
End of P4The school recommends Standard or Foundation level for each subjectParents choose on an option form

Two published 2026 school plans show the weighting at P3 and P4. One school counted three term tests at 10% each and the year-end exam at 70%. Another counted no test in Term 1, 15% each in Terms 2 and 3, and 70% for the year-end exam. Your child's school will publish its own plan.

End-of-P4 subject banding. MOE says the school recommends a subject combination from the P4 year-end results. A child who passes 3 or more subjects is offered all four at Standard level. A child who passes 2 or fewer can choose any mix from four Standard subjects to four Foundation subjects. Higher Mother Tongue may be offered to a child who passes all four and does very well in Mother Tongue. In P5 the child takes the preferred combination, and in P6 the school-recommended one for the PSLE. Our guide to Foundation vs Standard subjects in P5 explains each choice.

Two more changes affect this age group. The Gifted Education Programme stops admitting new P4 students from 2027, explained in our GEP replacement guide. And for 2027, P1 starts on Monday 4 January and P2 to P6 on Tuesday 5 January, per MOE's school terms release. Level by level, see our Primary 1 guide, Primary 3 guide and Primary 4 guide.

At P1 and P2, many children do well in a small, friendly class where they see other children reading aloud. By P3 and P4, the gap often becomes specific: Science answers that miss keywords, or Maths word problems without a model drawn. That is where a 1-to-1 tutor can stay on one topic until it is fixed. Online classes, such as those at Edufront and EduZ, save travel but need a child who can focus on a screen, which is harder at age 7. For a wider look across subjects, see our guides to the best English tuition, best Chinese tuition and best Science tuition in Singapore.

How to choose

  1. Name the gapRead your child's last few worksheets or term tests. Is it reading, sums, Chinese characters or, from P3, Science answers? A phonics class and a Maths centre solve different problems.
  2. Match the class size to your childA shy 7-year-old often does better in a group of 6 or fewer. A confident child may enjoy a bigger class.
  3. Work out the cost per hourDivide the monthly fee by the hours of class. Add registration, deposit, materials and GST for the first month.
  4. Keep travel shortYoung children tire quickly. A centre within 15 minutes of home or school is easier to keep up for a whole year.
  5. Book a trial and judge itUse the checklist below, then decide within a week.

At the trial, check that:

  • the teacher gets your child talking, reading aloud or explaining a sum, not just copying
  • your child is given a question to try before the teacher shows the answer
  • the class uses the same methods as school, such as number bonds and the bar model in Maths
  • you hear specific feedback afterwards, such as "she reverses b and d" rather than "doing well"
  • your child comes out wanting to go back.

Common questions

What is the best primary school tuition centre in Singapore?

There is no official ranking. From published facts, Jan & Elly suits early readers, Ancourage Academy has the smallest stated classes, The Science Academy suits P3 Science, Ruixing suits Chinese and EduZ has the lowest published fee per hour.

How much does P1 to P4 tuition at a centre cost?

Published monthly fees on this list run from S$150 to S$180 for 4 lessons at EduZ to S$288 a month for P3 and P4 Chinese at Ruixing. That is about S$25 to S$40 an hour in our estimates where a lesson length is published.

Does my P1 child need tuition?

Not usually for marks, since P1 and P2 have no weighted assessments or exams. Tuition helps when a specific foundation is weak, such as reading, number bonds or Chinese, or when the school has flagged your child for extra support.

When should my child start Science tuition?

Science starts in P3, so there is nothing to catch up on before then. If your child struggles to explain answers in the first P3 term test, that is a good time to start.

What is a good class size for lower primary?

Smaller groups give a young child more of the teacher's time. On this list, published sizes range from 3 to 6 students at Ancourage to a 1:15 ratio at MindChamps.

What happens at the end of P4?

The school recommends Standard or Foundation level for each subject based on P4 year-end results, and parents state their choice on an option form. A child who passes 3 or more subjects is offered all four at Standard level.

Do these centres offer trial lessons?

Most do. Ancourage, Bespoke, EduZ, Ruixing and SuperMath offer a trial at no charge, Edufront charges S$10.90, and Miracle Learning Centre says its trial lessons are paid.

Is a centre or a home tutor better for P1 to P4?

A centre suits a child who is broadly on track and enjoys learning with classmates. A home tutor suits a child with a specific gap, or a family that wants lessons at home without travel.

How many subjects should a P3 child take at a centre?

Start with the one subject that is weakest. Two or three weekly classes on top of school can tire an 8 or 9-year-old, and several centres here give discounts if you do add a second subject.
