Best PSLE Science Tuition Centres in Singapore (2027): 10 Compared

Written and reviewed by Theon Teo, Founder · editorial policy

Ten PSLE Science tuition centres in Singapore for P5 and P6, compared side by side on published fees, our cost per hour estimate, class size, branches by region and trial terms. Every fact was read from each centre's own website on 8 November 2026, with what the PSLE Science paper (0009) actually tests.

The best PSLE Science tuition centre is the one that fixes your child's actual gap at a price and distance you can keep up for two years. From what each centre publishes, Heuristics Science in Novena fits a child who understands the concepts but loses marks on open-ended answers. Science Studios fits a strong or GEP child who wants stretch, through its higher-ability stream. Ace Academia in Clementi (up to 4 per class) and Ancourage Academy (3 to 6 per class) suit a child who is struggling and needs close attention. Science Studios at Katong and The Science Academy at Tampines serve the east, and TinkerLab and The Science Academy have the lowest published fee per hour in our estimate.

No centre paid to appear here, and the order below is alphabetical (ignoring "The"), not a ranking. We are a home tuition agency, so these centres are an alternative to what we offer. That is why every fact comes from the centre's own website, with the source and date in our research notes.

How we chose these centres

We started from the centres that rank on Google Singapore for "psle science tuition centre", "p6 science tuition", "p5 science tuition" and "primary science tuition singapore", plus those named by the top listicles. A centre made the list if it met these tests:

  • It teaches P5 and P6 Science as a core programme, either as a science specialist or with a dedicated upper primary Science class.
  • It publishes its programme on its own website, so a parent can check levels, method and branches before calling.
  • It has active branches with addresses on its site.
  • It spreads the list across the North, North-East, East, West and Central regions and across price points.

We also kept this list distinct from our wider best science tuition guide, which covers secondary and JC science too, and from our best PSLE tuition guide, which covers all four PSLE subjects.

All facts were checked on 8 November 2026. Fees change, so confirm the figure with the centre before you enrol. Where a centre does not publish something, we say "not published". We did not verify Google ratings for this list, so we leave them out rather than guess.

The comparison table

The per-hour figure is our estimate, worked out from the published fee and the published lesson length. It ignores registration, deposits and materials, which are listed in each centre's section. For example, S$280 a month for 4 lessons of 2 hours is S$280 divided by 8 hours, or S$35 an hour.

The Science Hub

What is distinctive. A science centre that runs small tutorial classes of 3 to 6, where the teacher works with each child in turn, alongside larger group classes of 8 to 15. Its P5 and P6 programme runs in four modules: concept mastery, TCR answering techniques, higher-order thinking and consolidation for PSLE.

Who it suits. A child who freezes in a big class and needs the teacher to check working one by one, and parents who want an easy exit, since the first month works as a trial. Who it may not suit. Families on a tight budget, as its monthly fee is the highest among the centres here that bill by the month.

Fees as published. S$420 a month for a weekly 2-hour class, for both tutorial and group classes, collected as S$840 every two months. Assuming 4 lessons a month, our estimate is S$52.50 an hour. New students pay S$40 registration and S$60 materials, and no deposit is mentioned. In the first month you can stop at any time, with unused fees, registration and materials refunded.

Branches. Farrer Road (Blk 4 Queen's Road, near Farrer Road MRT) and Kovan (203 Hougang Street 21, near Kovan MRT), as listed on its contact page. Its home page lists further addresses, so check which branch runs your child's level.

What the exam actually tests

PSLE Science follows SEAB's syllabus 0009, revised for examination from 2026. It assesses the MOE 2023 Primary Science syllabus, which began with the 2023 P3 cohort and reached P6 in 2026. Our PSLE Science subject page sets out the topics level by level.

BookletItem typeQuestionsMarks per questionMarks
AMultiple choice, four options30260
BStructured (open-ended)10 or 112, 3, 4 or 540
TotalOne paper, 1 h 45 min40 or 41100

Candidates answer every question in both booklets. In 2026 the paper was on Tuesday 29 September, and results are tentatively due on 24 to 25 November 2026. SEAB has not yet published the 2027 timetable, so the 2027 paper is expected in late September 2027, in line with 2026.

SEAB names two assessment objectives. The first is knowledge with understanding of facts, concepts and principles. The second is applying that knowledge and scientific inquiry: making predictions and hypotheses, interpreting information, evaluating methods and communicating explanations, in words or by using diagrams, tables and graphs.

That second objective is where Booklet B marks are won or lost. Three habits make the difference:

  • Answer the question asked. A 3-mark question usually wants a cause, a process and an effect, linked in order. A correct fact that does not answer the question earns little.
  • Use the exact keyword. "Evaporates" and "dries up" are not the same answer to a marker. Our PSLE Science keywords list gathers the phrases by topic, and our guide to the keyword trap shows how children who understand the science still drop marks.
  • Read the experiment. Many questions show a set-up and ask what was changed, kept the same or measured, or why a result came out as it did.

P5 work in the 2023 syllabus covers reproduction, the water cycle, plant and human respiratory and circulatory systems, and electrical systems. P6 covers photosynthesis, energy conversion, forces and interactions within the environment. Electrical circuits are a common weak spot, explained in our electrical circuits topic guide. For a revision plan, see how to score well in PSLE Science. Children taking Foundation Science sit a different paper (0039).

Online options, such as live-streamed classes at The Science Academy, Zoom lessons at The Pique Lab and EduFirst's online classes, save travel but need a child who can focus on a screen. A centre gives your child classmates working on the same questions. A home tutor gives them someone who reads every Booklet B answer and fixes the wording until it scores. How to choose

  1. Find the gap firstLook at your child's last two Science papers. Is it Booklet A concepts, or Booklet B answers that are right in idea but short of the keyword? A concept class and an answering-technique class solve different problems.
  2. Set a budget per hourDivide the monthly fee by the hours of class. Add registration, deposit, materials and any required workshops for the first term.
  3. Shortlist by travelA 20-minute trip each way adds up over P5 and P6. Use the area table above.
  4. Book a trial or ask the exit termsWhere no trial is published, ask what happens if you stop after the first month.
  5. Judge the trialUse the checklist below, then decide within a week.

At the trial, check that:

  • the teacher marks a written open-ended answer and shows what was missing
  • your child is asked to explain an experiment set-up, not just copy notes
  • keywords are taught in context, not only as a list to memorise
  • the class has a clear plan for the term, with timed papers as PSLE nears
  • you hear specific feedback afterwards, not just "doing well".

Common questions

What is the best PSLE Science tuition centre in Singapore?

There is no official ranking. From published facts, Heuristics Science suits children who lose marks on open-ended answers, Science Studios suits strong and GEP students, and Ace Academia and Ancourage Academy suit children who need a small group.

How much does PSLE Science tuition at a centre cost?

Among centres that publish both fee and lesson length, regular P5 and P6 classes work out to about S$35 to S$54.50 an hour in our estimates. Monthly fees range from S$240 to S$420 before registration and deposits.

When should my child start P5 or P6 Science tuition?

Start when a gap shows, ideally early in P5. P5 topics such as electrical systems and the respiratory and circulatory systems come back in PSLE open-ended questions, so P5 gaps are cheaper to fix early.

How is PSLE Science marked?

It is one paper of 1 h 45 min for 100 marks. Booklet A has 30 multiple-choice questions at 2 marks each, and Booklet B has 10 or 11 open-ended questions worth 2 to 5 marks each.

Why does my child understand Science but still lose marks?

Booklet B rewards complete, precise answers. A child who explains the idea loosely, misses the keyword or does not link cause to effect can lose most of the marks for a question they understand.

Do these centres offer trial lessons?

Some do. Ace Academia, BlueTree and EduFirst advertise a trial at no charge, The Science Hub refunds unused fees in the first month, The Science Academy's trial is paid and Ancourage's is usually S$18. Others do not publish trial terms.

What is a good class size for PSLE Science?

Smaller groups let the teacher read each child's written answers. Among these centres, published sizes range from up to 4 students to 15 in a large group.

Is a centre or a home tutor better for PSLE Science?

A centre suits a child who is broadly on track and wants structure. A home tutor suits a child with specific gaps, especially in open-ended answers, who needs one person reading every answer.

How do I check a centre's results claims?

Ask how many students sat the PSLE, how many were counted, which year it was and where they started. A percentage means little without those numbers.
