Best Physics Tuition Centres in Singapore (2027): 10 Compared

Written and reviewed by Theon Teo, Founder · editorial policy

Ten physics tuition centres in Singapore side by side for Sec 3 and 4 Pure and Combined Science Physics and JC H2 Physics: published fees turned into a per-hour cost, class sizes, branches with the nearest MRT, trial terms and what to ask at a trial.

The best physics tuition centre depends on your child's level and need. For practical skills taught in a physics lab by a former MOE Senior Teacher for Physics, look at Concept First (Clementi, Marine Parade). For H2 Physics with one tutor who teaches every class, look at Physics.com.sg (Bishan). For the smallest groups, Super Physics in Punggol caps classes at 3. For a struggling Sec 3 or Sec 4 student in the east or north-east, Learning for Keeps (Hougang, Tampines) caps classes at 6. In the north, APMC Learning Centre teaches Pure and Combined Physics in Woodlands, and it has the lowest published secondary fee here, S$240 to S$264 a month.

Centres quote fees per lesson, per hour, per 4 lessons or per month, so this guide lists each fee exactly as published and then works out a comparable cost per hour. Every fact was read on the centre's own website on 7 November 2026. If a fact is not on the centre's site, we say "not published" rather than guess.

How we chose these centres

We searched Google for "physics tuition centre", "best physics tuition singapore", "o level physics tuition" and "h2 physics tuition centre". We noted the centres that rank and the ones that other top-10 lists name, then kept centres that pass all four tests below.

  1. Specialises in physicsPhysics is the centre's main subject or a named programme with its own page, for Sec 3 and 4 Physics, H2 Physics or both.
  2. Publishes its programmeIts website shows at least the fee, the timetable, the class size or the named teacher.
  3. Runs active branchesIt lists a current address, and most show a 2027 timetable or 2027 registration.
  4. Spread of area, price and styleTogether, the 10 cover every region, groups of 3 to 30, one-tutor centres and multi-branch centres, and a range of fees.

All facts were checked on 7 November 2026. Fees often change each January, so confirm the current figure before you pay. No centre paid to appear here, and the detail section is in alphabetical order, not a ranking. Three of these centres also appear in our wider science, secondary and JC round-ups. The other seven are new here.

What the physics exams actually test

From 2027, secondary students in Full Subject-Based Banding sit the Singapore-Cambridge Secondary Education Certificate (SEC). Pure Physics at G3 is syllabus K323, which takes over from O-Level Physics 6091. Combined Science students take Physics as one half of K326 (Physics, Chemistry) or K327 (Physics, Biology). JC students sit H2 Physics, syllabus 9478. A good centre teaches to these exact papers, including the practical.

PaperSEC G3 Physics K323Combined Science K326 or K327H2 Physics 9478
Multiple choicePaper 1: 1 h, 40 questions, 40 marks, 30%Paper 1: 1 h, 40 marks, 20%, across both sciencesPaper 1: 1 h, 30 questions, 30 marks, 15%

Section B, one of two 10-mark questionsPaper 2 (Physics): 1 h 15 min, 65 marks, 32.5%, plus the other science paper at the same weightPaper 2: 2 h, 75 marks, 30%, including data-based questions worth 20 to 25 marks. Paper 3: 2 h, 75 marks, 35%. Section A 55 marks, Section B one of two 20-mark questions
PracticalPaper 3: 1 h 50 min, 40 marks, 20%, two sections of 55 minutesPaper 5: 1 h 30 min, 30 marks, 15%Paper 4: 2 h 30 min, 50 marks, 20%, with data processed in spreadsheet software

Both syllabuses have 20 topics in six sections.

  • 20 topicsSEC Physics K323Measurement, Newtonian mechanics (kinematics, dynamics, turning effect, pressure, energy), thermal physics, waves and light, electricity and magnetism up to electromagnetic induction, and radioactivity.
  • 16 topicsCombined Science PhysicsA shorter physics section without separate Static Electricity, Thermal Properties of Matter or Electromagnetic Induction topics.
  • 20 topicsH2 Physics 9478Foundations, mechanics (projectiles, collisions, circular motion, gravitational fields, oscillations), waves, thermal physics, electricity and magnetism including capacitance, and quantum and nuclear physics.

At SEC level, about 55% of the theory marks test handling information and solving problems, not recall, which is why data-based questions and unfamiliar contexts matter. Our SEC Physics A1 guide covers the paper strategy, and our Combined Science guide explains how that grade works. At A-Level, an A in H2 Physics is worth 20 of the 70 rank points, as our A-Level grading guide explains. At a trial, ask whether the centre's notes follow K323 or 9478 for 2027.

Centre, home tutor or online?

The cheapest hour is usually a centre group class. The most tailored hour is one-to-one. Here is how the published centre fees above compare with the rates on our rate card.

A worked example: a Sec 4 student in a 2-hour weekly class at S$420 for four lessons pays S$105 a week. One 1.5-hour lesson a week with a full-time tutor at S$45 to S$65 an hour costs S$67.50 to S$97.50 a week. For a JC2 student, a 2-hour class at S$115 a lesson compares with S$97.50 to S$135 for 1.5 hours with a full-time JC tutor. Many families use a centre for the weekly lesson and add a few one-to-one sessions before prelims.

Online classes suit older students who will ask questions on screen. Physics.com.sg, Intuitive Minds, Super Physics and The Physics Cafe offer live online lessons, and SG Physics, Chemistry & Math offers recordings. Practical work is harder to coach online.

How to choose a physics tuition centre

  1. Confirm the exact subjectPure Physics (K323), Combined Science with Physics (K326 or K327) or H2 Physics (9478). Not every centre teaches Combined Science.
  2. Start from the gapLook at the last school test. Concepts in mechanics or electricity, the data-based question, timing, or the practical? Pick a centre whose method fits.
  3. Compare cost per hourTurn every quote into a cost per hour, and add registration, deposit, materials and GST. Our table does this for published fees.
  4. Check the class size for your slotAsk for the number in the class your child would join, not the average.
  5. Book one trialTrials range from no charge to a full lesson fee. Ask what it costs before you book.
  6. Review after a monthCompare the next school test with the last. If nothing has changed after about 6 to 8 lessons, ask the centre for a plan or switch.

Trial-lesson checklist

  • Who teaches this class all year, and who covers if they are away?
  • How many students are in this exact slot?
  • Are the notes written for K323 or 9478 in 2027, not the older syllabuses?
  • Is the practical paper taught, and how?
  • Are data-based questions practised under time?
  • How are questions handled between lessons?
  • What does a missed lesson cost, and is there a recording or make-up class?
  • What notice is needed to stop, and is any deposit refunded?

Common questions

How much does physics tuition at a centre cost in Singapore?

Among the centres that publish fees, Sec 3 and Sec 4 classes cost about S$240 to S$420 a month for four lessons, and JC H2 Physics about S$400 to S$460 for four lessons, as checked on 7 November 2026. That works out to roughly S$30 to S$70 an hour for secondary and S$50 to S$100 for JC, before registration, deposit or GST.

What is the best physics tuition centre in Singapore?

There is no single best centre. Concept First stands out for practical work in its own lab, Physics.com.sg for H2 Physics with one tutor, Super Physics for the smallest groups and APMC for the lowest published secondary fee.

Which physics centres have the smallest classes?

Super Physics caps groups at 3. Intuitive Minds states a maximum of 5 on its H2 page, Learning for Keeps caps JC at 5 and secondary at 6, and APMC caps classes at 8 with two tutors.

Do physics tuition centres offer trial lessons?

Most do. Physics Academy charges S$50, SG Physics, Chemistry & Math gives 50% off the first lesson, The Physics Cafe charges one lesson fee, and Intuitive Minds and Concept First's H2 class offer a trial at no charge for a limited time. Physics.com.sg says it does not give trial lessons.

Which centres teach Combined Science Physics?

APMC, Concept First, Intuitive Minds, Physics Academy, SG Physics, Chemistry & Math and The Physics Cafe list Combined Science Physics. Learning for Keeps teaches Pure Physics only.

What changes for O-Level Physics in 2027?

From 2027, students in Full Subject-Based Banding sit SEC G3 Physics, syllabus K323, instead of O-Level Physics 6091. It keeps three papers: multiple choice (30%), a structured paper (50%) and a practical (20%), across 20 topics.

What does the H2 Physics exam include?

Four papers: 30 multiple-choice questions (15%), a 2-hour structured paper with data-based questions (30%), a 2-hour longer structured paper (35%) and a 2.5-hour practical (20%). In the practical, students process data in spreadsheet software.

When should my child start physics tuition?

Sec 3 is when most students start Pure Physics, so classes for 2027 Sec 3 are already listed at several centres. For JC, Physics.com.sg starts its 2027 JC1 class on 20 or 22 November 2026, before JC begins.

Is one-to-one tuition better than a centre for physics?

One-to-one follows one student's gaps and school schedule, which helps a student who is behind or anxious. It costs more per hour at the higher tiers, S$45 to S$95 for Sec 3 and 4 and S$65 to S$130 for JC with full-time or ex-MOE tutors on our rate card.

Are these centres paid to be listed?

No. We chose them by the criteria above and took every fact from each centre's own website on 7 November 2026.
