Best A Math Tuition Centres in Singapore (2027): 10 Compared

Written and reviewed by Theon Teo, Founder · editorial policy

Ten Additional Maths tuition centres for Sec 3 and Sec 4 side by side: published fees turned into a cost per hour, class sizes, branches with the nearest MRT, trial terms and what to ask at a trial, plus what the 2027 SEC K341 papers test.

The best A Math tuition centre depends on what your child needs. For the smallest published class, look at Ancourage Academy (Bishan and Woodlands, max 6) or The Math Lab (Kovan and Bedok, small groups averaging 3 to 4, with a refundable first month). For a teacher with senior school experience, look at Andrew Yap Education Centre (Ang Mo Kio) or Math Academy (Bukit Gombak). For a child who needs to rebuild from the basics, MasterMaths says weaker students start from the foundations, at five branches. In the east, Tim Gan Math (Tampines) and Achevas (Marine Parade) run A Math classes. The lowest published fee is Math Academy's live online class, S$220 for four lessons, and the lowest on-site hourly cost is Tim Gan Math at S$85 for a 2-hour lesson.

Centres quote fees per lesson, per month, per term or per four lessons, and lesson lengths differ from 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours. This guide lists each fee exactly as published, then works out a comparable cost per hour. Every fact was read on the centre's own website on 7 November 2026. Where a centre does not publish something, we say "not published" rather than guess.

How we chose these centres

We searched Google for "a math tuition centre", "additional maths tuition singapore", "best a math tuition", "sec 3 a math tuition" and "o level a math tuition", and noted the centres that rank and the ones other listicles name. We then kept the centres that meet all four tests below and dropped those whose A Math page had no programme details.

  1. Teaches A Math as a named programmeThe centre runs a Sec 3 or Sec 4 Additional Mathematics class, not only a general secondary maths class.
  2. Publishes its programmeIts website shows at least the fee, the schedule, the class size or the teacher for A Math.
  3. Runs active branchesIt lists a current address, a 2027 timetable or a live online class.
  4. Spread of area, price and styleTogether, the 10 cover every region of Singapore, very small and large classes, on-site and online, and a range of fees.

All facts were checked on 7 November 2026. Fees often change in January, so confirm the current figure before you pay. No centre paid to appear here. The detail section is in alphabetical order, not a ranking. We have tried not to repeat centres from our best secondary tuition guide and best maths tuition guide, so read those too for wider choices.

The 10 centres in detail

Achevas

What is distinctive. Achevas teaches A Math and IP Math for Sec 3, Sec 4, IP3 and IP4, and lets a student switch between on-site and live online classes while keeping a seat in each. A missed class gets a replacement and a full recording. Its named tutors are founder Jack Ng (NUS First Class Honours) and master tutor Janice Ong, who is a certified IGCSE examiner.

Suits: a student with a busy CCA timetable who needs recordings and the option to go online some weeks. May not suit: a student who wants a very small class, since on-site classes have about 10 to 12 students.

Fees as published: S$300 per 4 weekly classes on site and S$240 online. Moving one online class to on-site costs a top-up of up to S$75. A 2-hour trial costs S$75 on site or S$60 online. There is no fixed notice period. No registration fee or deposit is stated.

Branches: Jurong, 21 Jurong Gateway, CPF Jurong Building #04-01 (about 5 minutes from Jurong East MRT). Marine Parade, 50 East Coast Road, Roxy Square #02-125 (about 3 minutes from Marine Parade MRT).

Website: achevas.com

Ask at the trial: How long is each regular class? How many students are in this exact slot? Who teaches A Math at my child's branch?

Ancourage Academy

What is distinctive. Ancourage runs Sec 3 and Sec 4 G3 A-Maths to the SEC K341 syllabus in groups of 3 to 6, with a cap of 6, and a separate G2 A-Maths class (K232). Each weekly lesson is 2 hours. Its method draws on spaced retrieval practice, Socratic questioning and step-by-step scaffolding. The founder and academic director is Min Hui.

Suits: a student who stays quiet in a big class and needs the teacher to notice where they get stuck. May not suit: a family that wants to compare a listed fee before calling, since fees are given only as a personal quote.

Fees as published: Not published. The pricing page sells packages of 4, 12 or 24 lessons and states no registration, material or administrative fees. A 24-lesson package paid in blocks of 4 needs a deposit equal to 4 lessons, used for the final 4. The trial is offered at no charge (usually S$18).

Branches: Bishan, 152 Bishan St 11, #01-215. Woodlands, Vista Point, 548 Woodlands Drive 44, #02-16. The site does not name the nearest MRT for either branch.

Website: ancourage.academy

Ask at the trial: What is the fee for a 4-lesson block? How many students are in the slot today? Does the same teacher take the class all year?

Andrew Yap Education Centre

What is distinctive. Sec 3 and Sec 4 A Math and IP Math are taught by Mrs Jasmine Yap, who graduated from NUS with First Class Honours in Mathematics and received the Lee Kuan Yew Gold Medal. She is a former Education Consultant in the Mathematics Department at Hwa Chong Institution (College Section). The centre also publishes a Sec 3 and Sec 4 A Math crash course schedule.

Suits: a north-east student who wants an experienced teacher and a fixed weekend slot. May not suit: a student who needs a weekday evening, since the published A Math classes are on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

Fees as published: S$360 per 4 lessons for Sec 3 or Sec 4, each lesson 2 hours. A S$30 registration fee is non-refundable. The site states no GST and no deposit. Sec 3 runs on Saturday from 2.45pm to 4.45pm and Sec 4 on Sunday from 3pm to 5pm.

Branch: Block 302 Ang Mo Kio Ave 3, #01-1842 (Ang Mo Kio MRT). The site mentions live online classes and recordings for missed lessons.

Website: topmathtuition.com.sg

Ask at the trial: How many students are in the class? Can my child join online when needed? Is the crash course charged separately?

Jimmy Maths

What is distinctive. Jimmy Maths, founded by Jimmy Ling, teaches Sec 3 and Sec 4 A Math in live Zoom classes, and students can replay lessons afterwards. Its K-C-A method trains students to spot the keywords, link them to the right concept, then apply it. Students can send homework questions on WhatsApp, get unlimited marking with feedback and practise on its Adaptably platform. Named tutors include Ms Wendy Yeo, Ms Elaine Wee, Ms Goh Li Shan and Ms Amanda Cheang.

Suits: a self-driven student who works well online and wants quick help with homework. May not suit: a student who needs close attention in class, since classes hold 10 to 50 students.

Fees as published: Not published on its A Math page or on the schedule page of its parent centre, Grade Solution. A trial class with a consultation is offered at no charge. An online 3-day O-Level holiday course covers E Math and A Math.

Branch: Online. The parent centre's schedule lists upper secondary classes under online classes only.

Website: jimmymaths.com

Ask at the trial: What is the monthly fee? How many students are in my child's class? How fast are WhatsApp questions answered?

MasterMaths

What is distinctive. MasterMaths runs a Sec 3 A Maths programme for G2 and G3 students and groups Sec 3 and Sec 4 students by level. Its FAQ says weaker students start from the basics if needed. Lessons are recorded, there are termly assessments in Terms 1 to 3, and extra revision classes run closer to exams. The founder, Irfan, holds a First Class Honours degree from NTU.

Suits: a student who has fallen behind and needs topics rebuilt, close to home. May not suit: a family that wants a confirmed class size, which is not published.

Fees as published: From S$275 a month for 4 lessons, a flat monthly fee, with any 5th session in a month at no extra cost. This figure is on the home page, and the A Maths page does not repeat it. The site gives lesson length as both 90 minutes and 2 hours. A 90-minute trial is offered at no charge.

Branches: Farrer Park, 672A Klang Lane #01-97 (Little India MRT). Tampines, 201E Tampines St 23 #01-120 (Tampines East MRT). Woodlands, 791 Woodlands Ave 6 #01-603 (Admiralty MRT). Jurong East, 353 Jurong East St 31 #01-113 (Chinese Garden MRT). Bedok, 205 Bedok North Street 1 #01-379 (Bedok MRT). There is also an online branch.

Website: mastermaths.com.sg

Ask at the trial: Is the A Math fee the same S$275? Is each lesson 90 minutes or 2 hours? Which branches run Sec 4 A Math in 2027?

Math Academy

What is distinctive. Classes are capped at 9 and open to G3 and IP students. The co-founders are Ms Jolyn Ang, a former MOE secondary teacher with over 20 years of experience and a PGDE from NIE, and Mr Ian Ang, who holds First Class Honours in Pure Mathematics from NUS. In-house notes cover all 16 topics, every worksheet is marked by hand, and each lesson is streamed live and recorded. Students also get an AI assistant built on a bank of over 6,000 exam questions with worked solutions.

Suits: a west-side student who wants a small class with a former MOE teacher, or a student who wants the lowest online fee. May not suit: a student who wants 2-hour lessons, since lessons are 1 hour 45 minutes.

Fees as published: S$360 per 4 lessons on site and S$220 online. The home page states no registration or material fees. Trial terms are not published.

Branch: Blk 372 Bukit Batok St 31, #02-372, opposite Bukit Gombak MRT.

Website: mathacademy.sg

Ask at the trial: Which co-founder takes my child's class? How full is the slot? Is the online class the same lesson as the on-site one?

MuscleMath

What is distinctive. A Math classes have a published maximum of 8 students. The centre uses concise notes, in-house tests to track progress, and timed practice and workshops before exams, with WhatsApp help for questions. The Bishan branch teaches secondary maths only.

Suits: a central Singapore student who wants a small class near Bishan or Novena MRT. May not suit: a family that wants every cost listed, since the registration fee amount is not published.

Fees as published: S$95 a class on monthly payment or S$90 on a termly plan, for Sec 3 and Sec 4 A Math. Slots are 2 hours, with at least 4 classes a month. A one-time registration fee applies, amount not published. The site states no GST and no deposit. A trial is advertised, terms not published.

Branches: Bishan, 505D Bishan Street 11, #01-410. Novena, 103 Irrawaddy Road #02-20, Royal Square at Novena. The site says both are 1 to 3 minutes' walk from Bishan and Novena MRT.

Website: musclemathtuition.com

Ask at the trial: What is the registration fee? Which tutor takes A Math at this branch? Is a trial lesson charged?

Orion

What is distinctive. Orion's A Math programme uses a phased revision plan with harder questions each round, tests and short assessments, and summary notes and video lectures online. Tutors often stay back to clear doubts, and questions are also answered over Zoom and WhatsApp. The 2027 timetable lists a Sec 3 class on Friday at 5pm and Sec 4 classes on Friday at 7pm and Sunday at 10am.

Suits: a north or central student, and a family that wants to try a class with little risk. May not suit: a family that wants a known lesson length before enrolling, since it is not published.

Fees as published: S$360 a month for 4 lessons, with GST absorbed and no deposit. From November to March, the first lesson's fee is waived if the student does not continue. From April to October, an O-Level 3-lesson trial pack costs S$270.

Branches: Toa Payoh Central, Blk 190 Lorong 6 Toa Payoh, #04-508. Yishun, Blk 101 Yishun Ave 5, #02-95. Both classes can be joined live online. The site does not name the nearest MRT.

Website: oriontuition.com.sg

Ask at the trial: How long is each lesson? Who teaches the 2027 Sec 4 class? Is there a registration fee?

The Math Lab

What is distinctive. The Math Lab's Kovan and Bedok timetables list Sec 3 and Sec 4 A-Maths in 2-hour weekly slots on most days of the week, and small group classes average 3 to 4 students. The whole first month counts as a trial. If a student stops within it, unused fees are refunded within 3 working days along with the registration and materials fees.

Suits: a north-east or east student whose family wants to try a full month before committing, or who needs a weekday slot. May not suit: a family that wants the lowest fee, since S$420 a month is the highest published on-site fee in this list.

Fees as published: S$420 a month for secondary small group classes, collected as S$840 every 8-lesson cycle, one 2-hour lesson a week. New students pay a S$40 registration fee and a S$60 materials fee. There is no deposit. After the first month, stopping needs 2 weeks' notice. The branch pages do not say whether each A-Maths slot is a small group or a larger lecture group, so ask.

Branches: Kovan, 988 Upper Serangoon Road #01-05, Stars of Kovan (3 minutes' walk from Kovan MRT). Bedok, Blk 210 New Upper Changi Road (4 minutes' walk from Bedok MRT). The Bedok timetable shown is headed 2025, so confirm 2027 slots.

Website: themathlab.com.sg

Ask at the trial: Is this slot a small group or a lecture group? Which teacher takes it? Which 2027 slots still have places?

Tim Gan Math

What is distinctive. One programme runs at three branches, with structured worksheets that carry QR codes to video solutions and a study hub with lesson recordings. The 2027 Sec 4 timetable names Ms Joanne Kong, Ms Yin, Ms Charlotte and Mr Bryan. Group classes can be attended in the centre or by live stream.

Suits: a family in the west, central or east area that wants a fixed term plan and the lowest on-site hourly fee here. May not suit: a family that prefers to pay month by month, since fees are billed by term.

Fees as published: S$85 per 2-hour lesson. For 2027, Terms 1 and 2 are S$850 each (10 lessons), Term 3 is S$680 (8 lessons), and Term 4 is S$510 for Sec 3 (6 lessons) or S$850 for Sec 4 (10 lessons). The June holiday revision block is optional at S$340. There are no material or registration fees, and a trial lesson costs S$85.

Branches: Blk 133 Jurong Gateway Road #01-295 (Jurong East MRT). King's Arcade, 559 Bukit Timah Road #03-01B (Tan Kah Kee MRT). Blk 201A Tampines St 21 #01-1061 (Tampines East MRT).

Website: timganmath.edu.sg

Ask at the trial: How many students are in the class? Which tutor takes this slot all year? What does joining in Term 2 cost?

What does the A Math exam actually test?

From 2027, Sec 4 students take G3 Additional Mathematics, syllabus K341, for the Singapore-Cambridge Secondary Education Certificate (SEC). Today's Sec 3 students are the first full cohort to sit it. SEAB's syllabus says it builds the algebra and reasoning needed for H2 Mathematics at A-Level, and it assumes the content of G3 Mathematics.

Paper 1Paper 2
Length and marks2 hours 15 minutes, 90 marks2 hours 15 minutes, 90 marks
Weighting50%50%
Questions12 to 14, up to 10 marks each9 to 11, up to 12 marks each
ChoiceAnswer all questionsAnswer all questions

An approved calculator is allowed in both papers and the relevant formulae are provided. Missing essential working loses marks, and non-exact answers go to 3 significant figures (1 decimal place for angles in degrees). SEAB weights the skills as 35% using standard techniques (AO1), 50% solving problems in context (AO2) and 15% reasoning and communicating, including proofs (AO3). That 15% is why trigonometric identities and plane geometry proofs matter, and why a good centre marks full working, not only answers.

The content sits in three strands:

  • A1 to A6AlgebraQuadratic functions and inequalities, surds, polynomials and partial fractions, the binomial theorem, and exponential and logarithmic functions.
  • G1 to G3Geometry and trigonometrySix trig functions, identities and equations, R-formula, coordinate geometry of circles, linear law, and proofs in plane geometry.
  • C1CalculusDifferentiation and integration, rates of change, maxima and minima, area under a curve, and kinematics in a straight line.

Some items are out of scope: general solutions of trigonometric equations, problems with two circles, the area between two curves, and the greatest term of a binomial expansion. Our A Math syllabus page lists every topic, and our guide on how to score an A1 in A Math covers paper strategy. If your child is still deciding whether to take the subject, read E Math vs A Math first. For how SEC grades and L1R5 work, see our SEC grading guide and L1R5 guide.

Centre, home tutor or online?

The cheapest hour is usually a live online group class. The most tailored hour is one-to-one. Here is how the published centre fees above compare with the upper secondary rates on our rate card.

A worked example: a Sec 4 student in a 2-hour weekly class at S$360 for four lessons pays S$90 a week. One 1.5-hour lesson a week with a full-time tutor at S$45 to S$65 an hour costs S$67.50 to S$97.50 a week. Many families keep the centre class and add a few one-to-one lessons before the prelims.

How to choose an A Math tuition centre

  1. Start from the gapLook at the last school test. Losing marks on algebra and logarithms, on trig identities and proofs, or on calculus? Pick a centre whose method fits that gap.
  2. Compare cost per hourTurn every quote into a cost per hour and add registration, materials, deposit and GST. Our table does this for the published fees.
  3. Check the class size for your slotAsk for the actual number in the class your child would join, not the average.
  4. Book one trialSeveral centres charge for the trial. Ask what it costs and whether it counts towards the first month.
  5. Watch for three things in the trialYour child should leave with one method they did not have before, get a question answered in person, and be given practice with full worked solutions.
  6. Review after one monthCompare the next school test with the last. If nothing has changed after about 6 to 8 lessons, ask the centre for a plan or switch.

Trial-lesson checklist

  • Who teaches the class for the whole year, and who covers if they are away?
  • How many students are in this exact slot?
  • Is the material matched to the 2027 K341 syllabus, with timed Paper 1 and Paper 2 practice?
  • Does the teacher mark full working, including proofs?
  • How are questions handled between lessons?
  • What does a missed lesson cost, and is there a recording?
  • What notice is needed to stop, and is any deposit refunded?

Common questions

How much does A Math tuition at a centre cost in Singapore?

Among the centres we checked on 7 November 2026, published on-site fees run from S$300 to S$420 for four lessons, and online fees start at S$220. That works out to roughly S$31 to S$52.50 an hour, before any registration fee or deposit.

What is the best A Math tuition centre in Singapore?

There is no single best centre. Ancourage Academy has the smallest published class, Math Academy and Andrew Yap Education Centre have teachers with senior school or MOE experience, and Tim Gan Math has the lowest on-site hourly fee.

Which A Math centres have the smallest classes?

The Math Lab states that small groups average 3 to 4, Ancourage Academy publishes a maximum of 6, MuscleMath a maximum of 8 and Math Academy a maximum of 9. Orion states an average of 8, Achevas about 10 to 12 on site and Jimmy Maths 10 to 50 online.

Do A Math centres offer trial lessons?

Most do. Ancourage Academy, MasterMaths and Jimmy Maths offer a trial at no charge, Tim Gan Math charges S$85 and Achevas S$60 to S$75. The Math Lab treats the first month as a refundable trial, and Orion waives the first lesson from November to March if you do not continue.

When should my child start A Math tuition?

Sec 3 is the usual start, because algebra, logarithms and trigonometry in the first year carry into Sec 4 calculus. Starting before the Sec 3 mid-year exams leaves time to fix gaps before the Sec 4 papers.

Is online A Math tuition as good as a physical class?

Online classes are often cheaper, such as S$220 for four lessons at Math Academy and S$240 at Achevas, and usually come with recordings. They suit a student who will ask questions on screen.

Is one-to-one tuition better than a centre for A Math?

One-to-one follows a single student's gaps and school schedule, which helps a student who is behind or anxious. It costs S$35 to S$95 an hour on our Sec 3 to 4 rate card, compared with about S$42.50 to S$52.50 at the centres above.

What does the 2027 A Math exam include?

G3 Additional Mathematics (K341) has two papers of 2 hours 15 minutes, each worth 90 marks and 50%. All questions are compulsory, a calculator is allowed in both papers and the formulae are provided.

Is the SEC A Math syllabus different from O-Level A Math?

The 2027 syllabus is called G3 Additional Mathematics (K341) under the new SEC, which replaces the O-Level for the 2027 Sec 4 cohort. Its topics are grouped as algebra, geometry and trigonometry, and calculus, so check that a centre's notes follow K341.

Are these centres paid to be listed?

No. We chose them by the criteria above and took every fact from each centre's own website on 7 November 2026.
