The Integrated Programme is the six-year through-train that skips the O-Level (and from 2027, SEC) checkpoint entirely: IP students at schools like Raffles Institution, Hwa Chong Institution, ACS (Independent), Dunman High, Nanyang Girls', River Valley High, National JC and Temasek JC move straight from Year 4 into the JC years and sit only the A-Level (or, at ACS(I) and a few others, the IB Diploma) at the end. That design changes what tuition has to be.

There is no national syllabus code to teach to in Years 1 to 4, each school writes its own curriculum, sets its own exams, and habitually runs ahead of the MOE mainstream by six months to a year, especially in Math and the sciences. Generic "secondary tuition" mismatches this badly: the tutor teaches the mainstream sequence while the school is already two topics ahead, testing at a depth closer to A-Level introduction than O-Level.

Our IP tuition is school-matched by design. We ask which school and which year, then match a tutor who has taught that school's materials before, IP students bring their school's notes, tutorials and past internal papers, and lessons run off those rather than a generic textbook. Demand concentrates in three places. IP math tuition is the largest: the acceleration is steepest there, and a wobble in Year 2 or 3 compounds into the JC years where H2 Math assumes total fluency.

IP english tuition is second, driven by the essay and critical-reading standards IP schools set well above the mainstream, and by the transition into General Paper and the IB's English A. The sciences are third, where IP schools introduce JC-style treatment (proper mechanics, quantitative chemistry) as early as Year 3. Because there is no external exam until A-Level or IB, the school's internal exams ARE the stakes: they decide subject combinations, promotion and, at some schools, whether a student stays in the programme.

Rates for IP home tuition in 2026 run slightly above mainstream secondary: S$40-55 an hour with undergraduate tutors (often IP alumni of the same school), S$55-75 with full-time tutors and S$70-100 with ex-MOE or NIE-trained teachers, rising to JC-level rates in Years 5 and 6. You pay the tutor directly, with no agency fee and a free re-match if the fit is wrong. One honest note: the hardest part of IP tuition is tutor supply, because the tutor must know the specific school's materials. Our matching takes that seriously, and where the ideal school-matched tutor needs a week longer to source, we say so upfront rather than sending a mainstream tutor into an IP brief.

Where IP Students Actually Struggle

IP students are strong by selection. The struggles are structural, not ability:

The school runs six to twelve months ahead of the mainstream syllabus, so mainstream tuition and assessment books mismatch.

No national checkpoint until A-Level or IB means gaps accumulate silently for years.

Internal exams are set at near-JC depth from Year 3, and grading is unmoderated by any national curve.

A dip in school exams threatens subject-combination choices, promotion, or the IP place itself.

The workload culture discourages asking for help until the mid-year result forces it.

Parents cannot benchmark progress because there is nothing national to benchmark against.

The fix is a tutor who works off the school's own materials and pace, which is exactly how our IP matching works.

Why IP Families Choose Us

School-Matched Tutors

IP tuition only works if the tutor knows your school's materials. We match by school and year, often with alumni of the same programme.

Own-Materials Lessons

Lessons run off the school's notes, tutorials and past internal papers, not a generic textbook the school left behind a year ago.

Honest Supply Signalling

When the right school-matched tutor needs longer to source, we tell you, rather than dressing a mainstream tutor as an IP specialist.

IP Tuition Singapore: Frequently Asked Questions

How much does IP tuition cost in Singapore?

In 2026, IP home tuition for Years 1-4 runs S$40-55/hr with undergraduate tutors, S$55-75 with full-time tutors and S$70-100 with ex-MOE teachers, moving to JC-level rates (S$55-130 by tier) in Years 5-6. Parents pay the tutor directly, with no agency fee and a free re-match if the fit is wrong.

Why can't a regular secondary tutor teach an IP student?

Sometimes they can, but the mismatch risk is high: IP schools write their own curricula, run six to twelve months ahead of the mainstream, and test at near-JC depth from Year 3. A tutor teaching the mainstream sequence will be behind the school's pace. We match tutors who have taught the specific school's materials, often alumni of the programme.

Do IP students really need tuition if they skipped O-Levels?

Fewer IP students need tuition, but those who need it need it more urgently. With no national checkpoint until A-Level or IB, gaps accumulate silently, and the school's internal exams decide subject combinations, promotion and in some schools the IP place itself. The common pattern is a strong student who coasted for two years and then hit a wall at Year 3 acceleration.

Does the 2027 SEC change anything for IP students?

No. IP students bypass the national mid-secondary examination entirely, that was the O-Level before 2027 and is the SEC after. The IP through-train to A-Level or IB continues unchanged, which also means the internal-exam stakes that make IP tuition distinctive continue unchanged.

Get an IP Tutor Who Knows Your School

In the IP, the school's internal exams are the stakes. Tuition that ignores the school's own pace and materials misses the point.

School-matched IP tutors are the scarcest pool we manage. Requesting early in the term gives the best odds of an exact-school match.
