Undergraduate (Psychology)
About
I am a Psychology undergraduate, and I have been tutoring for 4 years. I teach students from Primary 1 to 4 and Secondary 1 to 2, with a focus on building strong foundations and confidence.
Background
- Currently studying for a degree in Psychology, where I learn about how people learn and about cognitive development
- Youth mentoring through church ministry and community volunteering, which has given me a lot of practice working patiently with younger students
How I teach
I use what I learn in Psychology to understand how each student learns best, and I adjust my explanations to suit them. I focus on real understanding, not memorisation. I use relatable explanations and everyday examples so that abstract ideas become concrete and easier to remember.
Confidence building is a big part of my lessons. I want students to feel safe to make mistakes and to ask questions. I use steady encouragement and keep track of progress, so students slowly learn to work through harder problems on their own.
Subjects and levels
I teach Primary Math, Lower Sec Math and Science, for Primary 1 to 4 and Secondary 1 to 2.
