Punggol primary schools
Almost three primaries for every secondary
MOE lists eleven primary schools in Punggol and four secondary schools: Edgefield, Greendale, Punggol and Yusof Ishak Sec. With that ratio, the PSLE Score and the order of the six school choices decide which P6 pupils get a place close to home. One band higher in Math is one point off the score.

What P6 Math asks for
P6 is the PSLE year. The Math result becomes an Achievement Level: AL1 is 90 marks and above, AL2 is 85 to 89, AL3 is 80 to 84 and AL4 is 75 to 79. The four subject ALs add up to the PSLE Score used for Sec 1 posting, so moving Math up one band lowers the score by one point.
The last new topics, such as algebra, circles and ratio, are taught early in the year. After that P6 is revision and timed papers, with the school prelims before the PSLE. Many marks are lost in the long word problems in Paper 2, where a child skips the model or the working and jumps to an answer.

Frequently asked questions
Which Punggol primary schools are nearest an LRT stop rather than the MRT?
MOE's school list gives LRT stops for Northshore Primary (Punggol Point), Oasis Primary (Damai), Punggol Cove Primary (Nibong) and Waterway Primary (Kadaloor). The tutor comes to your home, not the school, but knowing your LRT loop helps us match a tutor whose route suits the slot.
When should a Punggol family start P6 Math tuition for the 2027 PSLE?
The 2027 school year starts on 4 January (MOE press release, 14 Jul 2026). Starting in the year-end holidays gives the tutor time to find weak topics before the Term 1 tests, and leaves room to change tutors if the fit is wrong.
How much does a P6 Math tutor in Punggol cost?
The rate follows the level and the tutor type, not the town. For P6 Math it is S$30 to S$40 an hour with a part-time tutor, S$40 to S$55 with a full-time tutor and S$60 to S$80 with an ex-MOE teacher. Worked example: a full-time tutor at S$50 an hour, for 1.5 hours once a week, costs S$300 for four lessons. There is no contract.
How many hours of P6 Math tuition a week is usual?
Our rate card lists 1.5 to 2 hours a week as typical for P5 and P6, usually as one lesson. Some families add a second lesson in the weeks before the prelims and the PSLE. Start with one and add more only if the tutor shows a clear need.
