Secondary School Cut-Off Points 2026: PSLE Score Range for Every School

Written and reviewed by Theon Teo, Founder · editorial policy

The full MOE SchoolFinder table of PSLE score ranges and cut-off points for 139 Singapore secondary schools, from the posting of the PSLE 2025 cohort into Secondary 1 in 2026, with a worked example of spreading 6 choices.

Secondary school cut-off point 2026 figures come from one official table: MOE SchoolFinder's "PSLE score range of 2025", which gives the PSLE scores of the first and last student posted to each school when the PSLE 2025 cohort entered Secondary 1 in 2026. The second number in each range is the cut-off point (COP). Across the 139 schools listed, Posting Group 3 COPs ran from 8 to 22, Posting Group 2 from 21 to 25, Posting Group 1 from 26 to 30, and Integrated Programme COPs from 6 to 9. For the PSLE 2026 cohort, whose results are due on 24 or 25 Nov 2026 (tentative), these are the latest figures to plan six school choices with. MOE says COPs usually move by about 1 point a year, sometimes 2 or 3, and that meeting a COP does not guarantee a place.

Where do these secondary school cut-off points come from?

The secondary school cut-off points on this page are copied from MOE's SchoolFinder, the official Singapore school search tool. Each school's page has a table titled "PSLE score range of 2025", and the SchoolFinder list page carries the same records for every school, all dated 12 Jan 2026. We read them on 30 Oct 2026 and changed no figure. The only edit is that "16-22" is written as "16 to 22".

The "2025" in MOE's title is the PSLE year. These students sat the PSLE in 2025, were posted in what MOE calls the 2025 S1 Posting, and began Secondary 1 in January 2026, so this is the latest set of COPs available before PSLE 2026 choices open.

A lower PSLE score is a stronger result, because it is the sum of four Achievement Levels and 4 is the best possible. Our PSLE AL scores guide and PSLE score calculator show how ALs add up, and PSLE cut-off points explained covers how a COP forms, so this page sticks to the numbers.

What do PG1, PG2, PG3, IP and the symbols mean?

Posting Groups are MOE's three bands of PSLE score for Secondary 1 posting in Singapore, and they also indicate a child's starting subject levels. Posting Group 3 covers scores 4 to 20 and starts subjects at G3. Posting Group 2 covers 21 to 24, and Posting Group 1 covers 25 to 30, with AL7 or better in English and Maths needed at 26 to 30 (MOE, What are Posting Groups, 1 Oct 2026).

PSLE score bands for each Posting Group (MOE, 1 Oct 2026)
  1. Posting Group 34 to 20Starts at G3. Scores of 21 and 22 can also go through PG3
  2. Posting Group 221 to 2421 and 22 start at G2 or G3, 23 and 24 at G2
  3. Posting Group 125 to 3025 starts at G1 or G2. 26 to 30 need AL7 or better in English and Maths

Source: MOE, What are Posting Groups, Last Updated 1 Oct 2026.

Because scores of 21 and 22 can be posted through Posting Group 3, many Posting Group 3 ranges in the table end at 21 or 22 rather than 20. A Posting Group 2 range can likewise start at 21.

IP is the Integrated Programme, a route in which students go on to a pre-university qualification without sitting the SEC at Secondary 4. At dual-track schools, which offer both the IP and the SEC, the two are separate school choices, and MOE gives affiliation priority only for the SEC (MOE, How posting works, 1 Oct 2026). Our IP schools list covers what each IP leads to.

Affiliated ranges apply to children from an affiliated primary school. MOE gives them priority only if they list the affiliated secondary school as their first choice and meet any extra criteria the school sets, and at least 20% of places in each Posting Group are kept for children without affiliation priority (MOE, How posting works, 1 Oct 2026).

(D), (M) and (P) appear at SAP schools and show the Higher Chinese grade of the first and last student posted: Distinction, Merit or Pass. If that student did not take or pass Higher Chinese, no grade is shown, which is why some SAP ranges carry a grade on one end only (SchoolFinder footnote). Our SAP schools guide explains the posting advantage.

An asterisk after 30 means the last student posted had a score better than 30, but the school still had places after posting, so MOE shows its COP as 30 because it could have taken an eligible student with that score (SchoolFinder footnote).

A dash means SchoolFinder shows no range for that group. At Kuo Chuan Presbyterian Secondary, MOE's note says no non-affiliated students were posted to Posting Group 3 in the 2025 S1 Posting because all the places kept for them were taken through DSA-Sec. A blank cell means SchoolFinder lists nothing for that group at that school.

Posting Group 3, 2 and 1 cut-off points for 131 schools

This is the full non-affiliated table for the 131 Singapore secondary schools with a Posting Group 3 range. The second number in each cell is the COP. Rows follow the first PG3 number, the score of the first student posted, then school name. That order is not a ranking, and MOE notes that COPs depend on cohort performance and choice patterns.

Affiliated cut-off points at 26 schools

Twenty-six Singapore secondary schools show separate affiliated ranges for Posting Groups 3, 2 and 1. These numbers count only for a child from an affiliated primary school who puts the school as first choice. A child without affiliation should read Table 2 for the same school.

Worked example: spreading 6 choices with a PSLE score of 12

This illustration shows how a Singapore parent might use the 2025 Posting Group 3 COPs for a child with a PSLE score of 12, no affiliation and no Higher Chinese. It is a method, not advice about any school. MOE asks families to include at least 2 to 3 schools where the child's score is better than the school's COP, and to submit choices with a mix of COPs (MOE, Shortlisting schools, 2 Oct 2026).

A score of 12 is "better than" a COP of 13 or higher, because a lower score wins. Reading the PG3 column of Table 2 with that in mind, the parent sorts the schools they actually like into three bands.

  1. Choices 1 and 2: a stretchSchools whose 2025 PG3 COP was 10 or 11. A 12 would not have been posted there last year, but a typical 1-point move could change that. Table 2 has 4 schools at 10 and 9 at 11.
  2. Choices 3 and 4: close to the scoreSchools with a COP of 12 or 13. At 12 the child sits right on last year's cut and could be tie-broken out. Table 2 has 4 schools at 12 and 10 at 13.
  3. Choices 5 and 6: a marginSchools with a COP of 14 to 16, where 12 is at least 2 points better. Table 2 has 11 schools at 14, 7 at 15 and 7 at 16.

The counts are ours, from Table 2. A more cautious family could make choice 4 a third school with a margin.

Order still matters. Choice order is MOE's second tie-breaker after citizenship, so it decides between children with the same score and citizenship competing for a school's last places, before computerised balloting (MOE, How posting works, 1 Oct 2026). Rank the six in the order your child would really prefer them.

A child with a Pass, Merit or Distinction in Higher Chinese and a score of 14 or better has a posting advantage at SAP schools, and an affiliated child should check Table 3. MOE also notes that a child who just meets a school's COP will find most classmates came in with better scores, which some families weigh alongside travel time, subjects and CCAs.

Key dates for the PSLE 2026 cohort

The PSLE 2026 cohort in Singapore receives results on Tue 24 Nov or Wed 25 Nov 2026 (tentative), at 11am, according to SEAB and MOE. School choices open on the S1 Portal at 11.30am the same day and stay open for 7 calendar days, closing at 4.30pm on the last day (MOE, S1 posting, 14 Oct 2026).

Common questions

What is the cut-off point for secondary schools in 2026?

The latest official figures are MOE SchoolFinder's PSLE score ranges of 2025, used when the PSLE 2025 cohort entered Secondary 1 in 2026. Posting Group 3 COPs ran from 8 to 22 and IP COPs from 6 to 9.

Are these the cut-off points for the PSLE 2026 cohort?

No. The PSLE 2026 cohort's own COPs will only exist after their posting, due on 18 Dec 2026. Until then, these 2025 figures are the reference MOE provides.

Is this a ranking of secondary schools by PSLE score?

No. A COP records the score of the last student posted in one year, which MOE says depends on cohort performance and choice patterns. It does not measure teaching or fit for your child.

Will a PSLE score equal to the COP get my child in?

Not for certain. Children with the same score are separated by citizenship, then choice order, then computerised balloting, so some at the COP are tie-broken out.

What does 30 with an asterisk mean?

The school still had places after posting, so MOE shows its Posting Group 1 COP as 30. The last student actually posted had a better score.

When will MOE publish new ranges?

MOE has not given a date. The current SchoolFinder records are dated 12 Jan 2026, after the 2025 S1 Posting finished.
