PSLE Achievement Level (AL)
PSLE banded scoring system
PSLE Achievement Level (AL) is the banded grade reported per subject in the PSLE since 2021. Each subject is scored AL1 to AL8, with AL1 = 90+ marks (best) and AL8 = below 20 marks (worst).
In context
Approximate AL band cut-offs: AL1 = 90+, AL2 = 85-89, AL3 = 80-84, AL4 = 75-79, AL5 = 65-74, AL6 = 45-64, AL7 = 20-44, AL8 = below 20. The four-subject total AL is reported (best total = 4, worst = 32). Foundation subjects map to AL-equivalent bands AL A to AL C.
