JC H2 Chemistry is the JC1+JC2 A-Level Chemistry subject, syllabus code 9729. Required for medicine, pharmacy, dentistry and most life-science / chemical-engineering university courses in Singapore.
In context
9729 has three written papers plus one school-based Practical (SPA) component. Paper 1 is multiple choice (30 marks). Paper 2 is structured questions (75 marks). Paper 3 is free response with planning + data-based question (75 marks). The grade differentiator is application of physical-chemistry principles to unfamiliar contexts (Paper 3 long-form questions), and organic-chemistry mechanism reasoning.
