What is a tuition assignment?
A tuition assignment is a request from a family for a private tutor. It lists the student's level and subjects, the town or online, the lesson days and length, and the type of tutor wanted. On this board, tutors apply with a free profile, and the family chooses from the tutors put forward.
Where can I find tuition assignments in Singapore?
Tuition agencies post assignments on their websites, apps, Telegram and WhatsApp, and tuition centres advertise on job sites. The Singapore Syllabus lists its open home and online assignments on this page, with the level, subject, town, lesson days and rate card band for each.
How do I apply for a tuition assignment?
Tap Apply on the assignment and fill in a free tutor profile. Our team reads it against what the family asked for. If it fits, the family sees your profile with the other tutors they can choose from, and we confirm the rate and the first lesson with you before you accept.
What rate is shown on each assignment?
The band on each card is what families pay per hour for that level on our published rate card, from S$25 for an undergraduate tutor in lower primary up to S$130 for an ex-MOE teacher at JC and IB level. The rate for your lesson is in your offer, agreed with you before you accept.
Why is there no address on the assignments?
We show the town and region only, so no family's home can be found from this page. The full address goes to the tutor the family picks.
I am already a TSS tutor. How do I take one?
Reply on WhatsApp with the code on the card, or open your own mission board from the link we sent you, where every assignment shows how far it is from you.
Can I take online tuition assignments?
Yes. Online assignments are marked Online lessons, and the Online page lists them all. Choose Online in place of an MRT station on your profile.
Do I need to be a Singapore Citizen or PR to tutor?
If you are not a Singapore Citizen or PR, check with the Ministry of Manpower whether your pass allows private tuition before you apply. If you teach in a school now, check your employer's rules first.
Is there a Telegram channel for these assignments?
Offers go to tutors on WhatsApp. Tutors who have signed up can also log in to the TSS Telegram bot with the phone number on their profile to see some assignments.
How often is this list updated?
Through the day. The list is rebuilt every few minutes, and an assignment leaves it once a tutor is confirmed or after 30 days.
